Songs We Like

Time to show my age! Gather around my rocking chair children while I tell you a story. A story of a little girl. A little girl who would dig thru mom and dad's 45's and 8 tracks and listened for hours. Was playing Johnny Rivers, Johnny Mathis, Marty Robbins. Old comedy recordings of Andy Griffith. Elvis and the rest of the Sun Records talents popping up from nowhere! Vinyl records were blue or red or green or black!
They use to have vinyl recordings on the back of cerial boxes!! I still have all the ones from the monkeys and bobby Goldsboro!

Here is one for you mom and dad!
And sorry I broke your 8 track player! I was just a silly kid!

Speaking of the Monkees, here's the Stone Ponies with Linda Ronstadt singing "different drum" written by..... ta-dum! Michael Nesmith of the Monkees. Great song.
As for old records, my brother used to have this on 45. Still a good song, IMO (The band is Hedgehoppers Anonymous, I used to think it was Headchoppers :D)
Finally, Bobby Sherman. They've been showing repeats of the Partridge Family and he was in an episode. He was a "big star" back in the 60s?.70s. I looked him up on-line. He became an ambulance officer and was involved in EMT training. I love this song, I sing it to my dogs, with their names instead of "Julie". :D

(poor David Cassidy isn't well, and Linda Ronstadt too.... :()

Sorry for spamming the thread, but I've just heard that Glen Campbell has died :(
That sucks.. Glenn Campbell was on a downward spiral from alcohol and drugs. My last memory of him in my head was his dui arrest pic that the tabloids exploited. All dui pics make anybody look like a monster. The media beat him up when he hit rock bottom. Dolly Parton and Silvester Stalone made a million $ off his rhinestone cowboy legacy. Poor Glenn. I am sad now...
He needed help, not a kick in the jimmies...

This one is for GC...
