Songs We Like

Stay with it and sooner than you know you will be strumming along just fine.
Those guys don't strum along, they sing with their guitars. sigh.
That "Dust in the wind" is a classic. It reminds me of this for some reason. (horrible audio, but they are having such good fun)
So many good bands from that era. Many are still gigging. I wonder who of the "new crop" can match them? Real musicians who can play live and not need a computer to fix up their terrible singing or put in music for them.

oh, don't get me started, now I'll be watching all of the joe cocker videos with Leon Russell. and "singing" all the Janis songs I know. Oh lord won't you buy me a mercedes benz?
I didn't know "one" was a Three Dog Night song. They had a big hit with that song that starts "Jeremiah was a bullfrog", the rest of which escapes me at the moment.
We have a very well-known singer here called John Farnham, he started out as "Johnny" and had pop song hits one of which was "one". He's still performing (I think, he's like Nellie Melba, keeps "retiring" and then popping back up)
Here's another song from "back then" that I like, from one of our Australian bands Axiom. Brian Cadd later had solo hits, and Glenn Shorrock ended up in "The little river band" which had some successful records in the US
Not sure exactly when, but we had all of the american and british hits on the radio and then they brought in a rule that there had to be a certain amount of Australian content, so local bands got the airplay to make them successful because people got to hear them and not just all the overseas people
i think that was a "golden era" of good bands and songs, both overseas and here. What happened? :D

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'm delivering you something to drive around on your chicken farm.

Here is your Jeremiah and bullfrog tune..

I checked about "ONE" song out of curiosity. Always thought it was 3 dogs own. Turns out it was written by Harry Nilsson. Made Famous by 3 Dog Night going to #1. and others sang it including Johnny Farnham.
Never heard it performed by any one else here (USA) except 3 Dogz.
Here is one song I like by Harry Nilsson from 1971.

Little River Band was popular here when they were active. I never knew that they were from Down Under. I always assumed they were a US group. Here is one I remember well.
