Sonofagun blasted PULLET

Morgan, she's very pretty. I think she may be getting ready to lay. Her mean streak should dissapate after that first egg.

I had two SLW's and both were mean. When we processed our extra roos, to my amazement, one SLW was a hen. I would have processed her anyway, just because she was mean.

Is she trying to take on the roo's role because you don't have a roo? Though there were plenty of rro's in with my mean hen.

I don't know - she has a look in her eye, especially in that second picture

Ok maybe not that bad, but I wouldn't be reaching out to pet her!

I've got a new 8 week old Iowa Blue pullet that beats up on everyone except the biggest cockerel. She hasn't touched me yet, but I've caught her out of the corner of my eye walking up tough behind me as if she was a rooster. Pretty sure she isn't though:
This is the pullet:

This is the roo she likes:

I hope she calms down hehe I don't have any roosters, and this blue girl is not the head hen of the flock. I have a 32 week old Barred Rock who rules the roost, but if she were gone it would be a race to the finish between Phoebe (the blue wyandotte) and my Brahma for the next Boss lol.

I love her looks as well, and she is so plucky in the yard. She looks like a little basketball lol

Ok you don't have a roo, and she has taken over the lead of the flock and will continue to act like a roo, and will probably not lay many eggs. If there is no rooster, one hen will do this, and she is it.

I have a hen that has partially wing danced me. She hasn't put the wing to the ground, but I go in the run and get the sideways stance with one shoulder up and one down. She's run into the back of my leg once as well.

I started holding her here and there (gotta watch the fingers, she's a biter too) and it got a little better. Didn't change much when she started laying. She hasn't done it in a while, since my roo showed her who's boss.

My RIR... she is about 26 weeks also. Her comb is red but she isnt laying, or squatting. She wont let my roo get withing two feet of her. If a person gets within three feet of her she explodes in a frenzy of claws and feathers. She has knocked me in the eyes with that wing of hers, and she swings HARD.
I am reallly hoping she changes once she gets to the laying point...
