Sonoma County, CA quail keepers/processors?

totally agree... I got mine from KC Quail farms and couldn’t have been happier with the whole process

Yeah, I'm in agreement that ordering eggs from other states is probably the safest of options at the moment. My original stock came from 3-4 localish flocks but that's all I've been doing recently too.

I'm super surprised you couldn't find any locally though! When was this? CL has had dozens of listings for months in SF/SJ/hayward/Stockton areas, but it's true that it is a pain in the butt to find breeder listings outside of that.

I've been looking in the last month or so. As you said, lots in the east and south bay areas, not much north of San Francisco.

I’m in central California (Fresno) and nothing.. I saw a post the other day for little babies but they were button quail and didn’t want buttons

There are a bunch!

Maybe you guys are just all looking for a really really close by source? I would always expect to drive at least ~45 minutes to find some but would definitely consider that 'close by' considering I've arranged pickups 4+ hrs away.

:highfive:I was starting to feel like the only one! I often go an hr one way to the big city w three toddlers So its not even a concern to go two if need be, fun if i get to go alone w at least one person knowing exactly where i am. I find all sorts of fun things on my craigslist. This yr ive gotten a 8x3 coop for 25$ and a 14'x40" pool for free.

My jumbo roos have begun to crow. How soon will they start to get violent with each other? How soon do I need to process my two extras? I was kind of hoping to wait a few more weeks until my next back of chicks is big enough and do them all at once.

Edit: I'm not sure if I'm ready for this!
