SOP Breeders: How many to hatch yearly and pen sizes?

Well since so many here are knowledgeable about the inner workings of RIR, does anyone have any insight with D'Uccles?

Thanks for the link @Mosey2003. I should have clarified though. I already have a breeder, but I was wondering what people's experiences had been with them. Btw @cmom your RIR's are beautiful. I hope mine turn out to be half as good as yours.
If you read into that thread a bit, you'll see it's a huge collection of very good breeders' experiences and wisdom.

Hello all,

Quick question. I happen to have found my American Standard of Perfection book from when I first was getting into chickens. It's a paperback version from 1998. Would you say that much has changed since then with many of the standard breeds? I know there would be newer breeds that the standard had been added, but would say the standard of the buff brahma chicken have changed any from the 1998 version to the latest now? Just trying to see if I can go by the older version for Brahma and Ameracauna's.

:lau

Yeah right? Take the Plymouth Rock for example, only change is the angle of tail has been lowered and that's only because they finally could, or was the preference, over the past century.

People purchase the new books mostly as homage to the APA and sort of donation to keep it going. Not much changes but it's not charity if you buy a new book to keep current.

I seriously doubt anything has changed. It just about takes an act of Congress to make a change. If there is a certain point that you want to check, tell me and I can look at mine. I've got the newest version.

I need an SOP and life events have made discretional spending extremely tight, so I've been looking for used older copies. Ha! People don't seem to give them up easy. So sometime this year when things calm down I'll be getting the new version.

I am lucky though that the old standard for Plymouth Rocks is available online, so at least I can refer to that and I know about the tail angle.

For anybody who has the latest SOP:
Would you be willing to PM me to standards for Mille Fleur D'Uccle? They were added relatively recently so older books don't have the breed.
