Thornville, Oh
Do people show silkies after a year old and after they have been having babies? Sorry this sounds really silly but i am just trying to figure out if I want to get a pair of silkie girls that were shown last year they are year old i have yet to see them. But im just trying to cover all my bases. She said they were nice birds and I just asked for pics so hopefully she has some
Thanks

huh?

All hens and cocks are a year or more old. Pullets & cockerels are under a year. So yes, you can show your birds after they have grown, matured and had families

Many birds get better as they get older.

Just remember, birds that have been shown does not necessarily mean they are show birds. You can show a lot of birds, even non-worthy birds can place if there are not a lot in the variety or breed. If you are wanting birds to have around, by all means get them. If you want birds you may want to show, proceed with caution.
