SOS!!!! Rooster lost his voice

Can you take him with you? That's a long time if he's not able to eat/drink on his own very well unless you have a friend that can chicken sit.

You can use the Safeguard horse paste. Dose is the same regardless of what form it's in.
.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days.

The info on your package is for horses. For Poultry you will want to do the 5 days, that will treat most worms that's chickens can have. Dime size dose is not accurate.
Do you think the 12 hour drive would stress him more?

I would take him with me in the car in a small dog crate. He could be in a larger one or basket when you get their. That way you can treat him while you are gone, and make sure that he is treated well. I don’t think the car ride will be that hard on him. It would be worse for him to stay home and not be cared for as well as you can. There is a pcr blood test for Mareks available for $20 by RAL labs, that you can do yourself by collecting some blood serum from his toenail. This might be something to consider when you get back. Here is a link for that:

I agree with @Eggcessive I think I would take him with me if possible.

Glad you see were able to see the roundworm in his poop. That may be causing some of the crop issues. Possibly he's not getting nutrients like he should because of worms as well.
I would start the Safeguard and give for 5 days. Generally it's best to give this medication first thing in the morning when the crop is mostly empty.
