I know how difficult it is to lose them. I hope your heavy heart can heal soon.

Thank you
The vet said the crop problem was secondary, she probably had cancer of the oviduct, he could feel lumps and bumps so nothing I could of done.
At least she's at peace now. I've got antibiotics for my other chicken Milly who is laying her egg and shell separate as it could be the same- either infection( fingers crossed so medicine will work) or cancer

I am so sorry about your girl. I had a feeling it had nothing to do with sour crop, it only being a symptom of something bigger. When you start to see these dark green pellet poops, definitely something big going on inside the bird.

Internal Laying and Reproductive Cancer is VERY common in hatchery flocks. They say that 80% of all hens die from one of these issues and it can seem like some sort of disease or plague is running through your flock, when it is merely these two laying issues. Antibiotics won't cure either of these, but it can stop the E.coli infections for a while and you can prolong the death for a while, keep them more comfortable over all.

I am so sorry.

My favorite hen passed yesterday from and impacted sour crop. The vet had her on some meds but couldn't get the blockage out.
We massage it daily for 2 plus hours, had her on soft food in the hours did everything we could.
She vomited again yesterday and aspirated on it. :{
Very sad, there was nothing I could do she could not breath.

Once she passed I wanted to see what caused it and I was amazed at everything that was stuck in there!
