Sour crop

300,000 IU/kg I think.

What does that mean for dosing one hen? How do I use the stuff?

Let me take a look at the math tomorrow and I'll let you know,

For anyone that decides to use the Medistatin nystatin, when using the measuring spoon that it comes with, one level spoon = 3 grams.

Each gram = 400,000 IU, so one level spoon = 12,000,000 IU. The dose I use is 300,000 IU per kilogram, so one level spoon will treat 8-kilograms (17.6 pounds).

If you need help getting a more precise dose let me know the weigh of your bird and I will redo the weighing and math using a standard teaspoon set.

My aging brain sees grams, kilograms, and IUs, and it goes catatonic.

If you can estimate a dose for an average five pound hen using teaspoons and tablespoons when mixing a single dose of Medistatin, I know I'm not the only one who would be very grateful.

A five pound hen would get ~1/2 teaspoon twice a day.

Ive been seeing a running theme lately with the treatment of yeast and fungus. And that is that alot of the home remedies are oils.
I have a friend who had a toenail fungus years ago. And she told me she cured it herself with mentholatum rub. (greasy type of ointment) . I then ended up with a partial avulsion of a toenail after a winter sport and small boots and had a subsequent toenail fungal infection. Home remedy treatments were coconut oil and a citrus oil.
Now olive oil and oregano oil for sour crops. I think there is something to the oil breaking down the fungal membranes. But is something that is not to be just one time dosing. You need to be persistant and steady with applications. That's been the other take-home on their use. Can't do it 1/2 way or it wont work.

Anyways just thoughts out loud....

The requested poop photos attached. She went three times while I had her out putting the crop bra on, though the last was mostly liquid (not pictured). Seems like something is moving, at least?
