Sour crop

im so glad shes doing well , did the liquid that came out smell at all? if not then def not sour crop cos it smells truly awful! hope it was just a bit blocked and has now cleared. well done you!! its scary emptying those crops out, especially the first time! well i thought so! lol cant remember what post are on this thread now but did you make sure to let her up for air every 6 or so seconds, you dont want her to breath any liquid into the lungs. sure you did, sounds like you done a great job and they do feel so much better when its all out. just keep an eye that it dosnt fill up again over the next couple of days, id still massage for a couple of days just to help clear any remaining little bits that might clog her up. and yes please do keep us posted :)

So glad to hear of Bombie's two good days! I know you've had some desperate days with her and it's been tough on you and her. Sometimes medicine wise " less is more". There are some good threads on here about fermented feed which may help her recover and pack some weight back on. Fermenting her feed helps her absorb the nutrients more readily. It may even be easier on her little over stretched and sore little crop.

Your veterinarian sounds wonderful by the way. What troopers you all are.

thanks x

im gonna give her an hour and see if she eats if not ill make mash again but i think she ate a lot of pellets after the mash yesterday so not sure she need it. i just wish i knew what caused all this so i could avoid it happening again! anyway im happy happy happy!!! thank you all for your help and support
