I'm having a problem with one of my hens at the moment, initially I thought it was sour crop. No funny smell, but less active than usual, and squishy crop. The only trouble is, her crop still empties each night, and never gets huge. Is there anything else that could display similar symptoms? She isn't eating much.
Their normal diet is laying pellets, and whatever they find in the yard - there is plenty of short grass, and gardens to scratch in. I have given her yogurt and grit to help settle it for now, just hoping that someone has some insight for me!
The same hen has also taken a long time with her moult. The other 2 have even fully feathered for about a fortnight and she still has bald patches and isn't laying. Not sure if that is relevant.
