RobertH CONGRATS of the hatching! I think I timed mine just right and if any hatch it will be on the weekend! Mine have been in the bator for 7 days...Can I candle them now and What do I look for or should I wait til 10-15 days?

Temperature very steady, but the humidity, wow, condensation on the window big time.

no more pips yet. it is tough waiting! Checking evey 15 minutes or so.

Candled every day from Day 4 through 15. very interesting to see the movement. They realy grow fast those last few days! those blue eggs are very hard to see through.

HOME!! Robert and Kris...Congrats on the hatching!! I love the BLRWs!! Moon,Loving the coop so much!! Did not find any MF D'anver hens(for someone..hehe) or things mom wanted...Dixie did get a nice pair of Sumatra since she has been wanting some longtails.I got my pretty babies from Nella and another silver laced cochin...Then I found Russian Orloffs!! I have wanted these since I first saw them online right after I got my first chicks!! I bought a quad and the last lonely single hatching egg!! We had a great time and I think John is liking the D'anvers now that I had him looking at them...we found black ,white, quail, and 2 MF roos...almost bought the quail and missed a pair of porcelin D'uccles but I know where to get some of those(AMY

Shelly was awsome and gave me 101 quail eggs!! OMG!! I learned my MFs and my self blue can be serious contenders and that my BO's are tiny!! I want BIG ones...fell in love with big cochins! And Blue Orphs, and Mottled Duccles!!! And all the colors of cochin I don't have!! I had to practice restraint because I need to have the room before I brought more colors home!!

Got a new camera card that actually works...so I'm sorry in advance for pic overload but I took some long overdue pics of the chickies :)
The BLRW roo needs to find a home if anyone is interested. I think he's black laced but sometimes I see a blue sheen.

Fabulous!
Those d'Anvers are awesome! Love that girl's face but I also love the face on that little girl near the top. ALL your birds are pretty!

I am waiting for Kimberly and Nicole. They should be here very soon with my new babies and news from the show. I know they will be exhausted though so I won't keep them and will send them on home to bed.....after I see what Kimberly bought!

Yancy, that pen just keeps getting nicer and those kids just keep getting prettier.

Go ahead and candle with a bright LED light and see if you can tell anything. It can be a fascinating experience to watch them grow.

Soo excited for you...new babies!!! Too wonderful! Post a pic when you get a chance!!!

You're asking me? I AM NO EXPERT! but about day 4 I began to see small vains forming near the air sack, more vains and then a small blob with a little movement I should have kept notes. would be very tough to take pictures and the room has to be fairly dark to see anything. I had the best success holding the light just below the air sack to see movement. I would look, but don't make decisions based on what you see yet.

OK Just Candled eggs out of 15 ..12 looked to have something inside them, and 3 clear. I left all in there since they are only 7 days in. I didn't see veins(?) but I saw darkness on the sidenext to the air sac. Is this correct or are they not right????
