Actually, little guy is called a jake, he is 9 weeks old, and of course, the big guy, is 3 yrs old. So a very big age difference.

Little jake, thought he could tell Tom that he is the man, and well, Tom was not impressed. After a while, Tom finally put Jake in his place and let him know that he is a baby. All he did was try to step on jake, and that made jake decide to go pick on one of the other baby turkeys.

OUr Tom is so good with those babies. They constantly are picking at him and his feathers, he just gives them a look and then tries to step on them, then they quite bothering him for ohh, a minute or 2. then they are right back at him.

It is funny to watch them. Oh and our Hen, she really gets after the babies when they start displaying around the Tom. Soo Funny.

Amy, we love the blue barrel.

Yeah you will have to add turkeys to your signature!!

Caught the dog that attacked my chickens. She did not have a tag on and since it was the third day since she had killed my chicken that I found her in my yard(this time in my garage salivating over my babies) I called animal control. They came and got her very quickly. Then about an hour later I heard her owner calling for her. I told him where she was and why I called them. He was apologetic although he tried to act like yesterday was the first day she escaped. He promised I would not see her again--we will see. Unfortunately she is a sweet dog but with a negligent owner.

So my attacked chickens seem to be better. I find it very ironic that the only chicken I lost was the only chicken I would actually miss. I mean I love them all but she was just so special. I have resolved not to think any of them are special anymore(yeah right, as if that would work!) and that way I won't lose anymore! lol! One of my attacked chickens with the bad leg is still laying around a lot but he gets up and walks in and out of the coop and roosts on the tall roost at night so I am hoping he is just sore and still recovering!

So I got to visit Amy's farm(yes I am bragging lol!) and Sam's farm and now I might visit Southern Bee Lady's farm next week. I am making the rounds!! Who is next???? Of course I am dragging Sam around with me--and so far she has gotten a turkey from Amy. We will see what she brings home next week! lol!!

Not baby chickens but baby turkeys. I think Kris and Robert still have around 20 poults.
That is just too funny about the turkeys. They are quite the characters! I knew when Sam saw them she would want one and she took that long legged drink of water and put it in a small cat carrier until she could get home with it. They are so awesome though! I can't wait until people drive up here and have the Guineas and turkeys to greet them. It is bad enough my chickens are often right there to see what is going on.

=) I knew turkeys Amy!! I am on the waiting list for a pair of buffs ( HOPEFULLY) !! So I keep teasing for MY babies!! LOL Of course I need to get back for a couple mor guineas but John is a bit overwhealmed by my minions right now...if only they ate mosquitos...he thinks my mixed flock of 11 minions (guineas) is too much...but he liked Tigger the turkey!! I am going to get dixie to follow me candid camera style and get pics...I hate cameras but yall have got to see how I feed everyday!! This morning I waited to release the freerangers so it was me,a goat on each side,8 of the minions that choose tree sleeping WAAAY up high and the dog walking around doing morning check ups!! Add 3 more guineas, and the cats and freerange flock and that will be this afternoon!! Sometimes I let the pig join us but he is a brat if he isnt ready to go home when I need him to go in his fence!
