Thank you Robert! How big are 8 week olds? I have a smaller cat carrier and a large dog wire kennel. I was thinking about using the kennel, but maybe that would be too big.
Depends on the breed. take them both and decide there. the wire crate can let out a lot of "funk" so the cat carrier would be MY first choice., of course ours ride INSIDE the vehicle.

Thanks again. They will be riding inside so I figured I'd wrap the sides with either cardboard on the inside or towels on the outside. I'll have to check around, we used to have a medium sized carrier we used when the pups were small. That might be the best choice. Do you think they need electrolytes or anything in the water?

Cat carrier will probably do fine. electrolytes rarely hurt (unless they don't drink them) but I would wait until they are home. the water will probably splash around in the car and they may get wet. also. DO NOT open the carrier until you are inside their new home if possible. sometimes a loose bird in a new location can be very difficult to catch. they will initially be unsure of their environment. watch that they eat and drink. you might just open the door or take off the top and let them find their own way out.

just so there is no confusion, I mean the top of the carrier. anything else is up to you.

How has everyone been doing the past few chilly days? We had a tennis match in bhp tuesday and it was freeeezing. Time to winterfy the coops!

here's some pics I've taken in the past week.

It's rather obvious I have a tom and a hen now. Look how big they're getting! Please excuse the badly molting wyandotte lol

My broody mom hen hatched 7 slw and 1 rir chicks on halloween. Such an efficient hatcher. 100% hatch rate.

And a fluffball for your viewing pleasure

LOVE the PHOTOS!!!!

SO Check this out......One of my neighbors told another neighbor(that I'm friends with on FB)that she was "worried about my chickens and was afraid I was not feeding them enough cause my roosters where crowing alot" HOLY mother of ALL that is GOOD....she also claims to have had chickens before.......
My Chickens get....fresh fruit, oats, boss, bread, fresh vegtables and special mixture of crushed red pepper-cat food-oats(from time to time) food bowls are always full....They also have a special place to dust bathe, and fan in the summer and a night light....mint and eucalyptus with DE to help with the bugs.

The only reason this makes me mad is because if I do one thing right is I make sure my animals are safe and healthy.....I mean their coop a bear would have a hard time getting into..it's tripled wired.

I hope with everybody molting right now she doesn't think I'm making feather pillows on the side...REALLY some people are Cra Cra!!!!

Oh and Yeah if anybody wants a BlueBarred RockxJG Roo Let me know!!!!!

He's Big and nice so far...he's alot bigger now than in this pic. (This is why she hears double the crowing) again REALLY!!

Oh gosh, Yancy! You should read some of the crazy emails and PMs I get every day. It is enough to make me want to drink again! LOL They are pretty much along the same lines as what you heard. Ugh!
