Where is everyone today? I have time to get on and everyone else is busy?

Well, Lydia and I met "HBruemmer" (Heather) and her beautiful children today! We rehomed some Marans to them and saw their beautiful home. I think the Marans are going to love their new home and all the attention!

And Lydia and I really enjoy having new Chicken Loving Friends!

So Check This Out.... BleuBar the other roo is still a big ol baby. He likes to sleep in the nest boxes from time to time. I will say this since he started growing up the head roo-leaves me and the dogs alone!!! Too busy protecting the ladies from the hormonal teenager!

This guy is maturing so much faster than the Silkies that are the same age! Just look at all those pointed shiny feathers! And those feet! He's going to be a beautifully feathered rooster. He got the thick soft feathers from his Silkie parentage. I can't wait to see his adult tail and saddle feathers.

He is 1/4 polish. Mom was half polish half Silkie, dad was full Silkie. I think if I cross him with a Silkie hen the chicks may be Silkie feathered. I've done Silkie/polish crosses with my own birds a few years back. The roos almost always end up with these gold neck streaks. Makes it easy to tell hens and roos apart at a young age. First gen crosses don't have much leg feathering. I crossed wcb polish with black Silkies. The white from the polish was completely masked, all ended up being completely black.

If I ever have a chance to kidnap that girl, Amy.....LOL

She is just gorgeous!! I am so glad my drooling over her didn't hurt her chances.

Hi everyone,
I am about to head off to bed since I hit the floor at 2 am to go down to the Barnwell show. It was a great day!

Samantha (aka dixiebeast) did great in her classes and she took a good many birds!
Kimberly (aka Chickychickybaby) did really good with her Silkies!

I took the same 3 as I did 2 weeks ago. The white d'Uccle still was beat out by Sam's girls, my Booted Bantam once again had no competition but my bantam Mottled Cochin took Best of Breed, Best Featherleg and Reserve Champion in Show. I was pleased.

Christmas Silkie. Yes I know it's a roo....
It's so sweet and likes being in the house.

Oh yes this is uploaded from my phone.. Y'all are in trouble .. Lol.
HOw do you know it is a roo at such an early age? I will have to post pics for you to look at my two young ones especially now that it is easier to post pics!

Quote: Did I miss meeting you? My head is often in the clouds on show days since I try to look at and remember so much! The birds are dazzling enough but talking with other folks really spins my brain about who is whom.
I thought this win was funny because 2 weeks before at the Clemson show she took Best of Variety and I teased that next time we were shooting for Best of Breed. Little did I expect to walk away with such a nice win. I, of course, think she is a walking dream and with Samantha, Kimberly and Nicole constantly urging me to show her I finally relented.
Drool over her all you want. I have been doing it for years! I love this girl!
