Update on my flock: we are now living out in Trenton, SC. I had a recent security breech and lost my best Dominique hen to a possum. Also my second clutch of ducklings (Ancona) are growing like weeds.

I need some Dom hatching eggs and want to get started in Dorkings. Anyone know where I can get some hatching eggs?

Red Bug Poultry is wonderful and has Dom and Dorking eggs. We love the birds we got from her, we have both breeds.

We have both Dominiques and Red Dorkings here and ship hatching eggs if you are too far to meet locally. Both breeds are laying very well right now if you are interested pm me.

Heather, I am so glad we met on here! And I so love how your whole family love their birds(well, mainly Sophie!).

Everyone really enjoys the birds but Sophie has turned into a crazy chicken lady. But even little Maddie was telling Grandpa on the phone "You should come and see our chickens Grandpa, because they really are so wonderful. You would love them." Of course, Grandpa said he really loves their wings.

I thought we had emailed. I'm still getting some of the names and locations straight! Next is for spring to get it in gear so I can put a face with the name and location.

Yes Melissa, you are right! I just loose track! Sorry about that and yes, we have several breeds of chickens here too along with the guineas! And all of them are getting soaked at this moment....

What a rain storm we are having, my daughter does not understand why her TV signal keeps going out!

Me too, me too. It will be easier to remember once those poor wet guineas start laying eggs and we meet up! No lie about this rain! I know we need rain, but does it have to be all at once?

I've pm'ed Red Bug so hopefully she can hook me up with some dom and dork eggs. I'm excited!

In the meantime I need to figure out a way to keep my ducks safe on pasture at night. Right now I'm herding them into a small animal kennel and putting them up at night. I'd really like to train them to go to bed in some type of portable structure that can be left out on the pasture with the chickens and sheep. Has anyone seen anything that might help me? I need design ideas. I keep everyone in Premier Poultry Net electrified with a solar charger already so its mainly owls that I'm worried about.
