Mine are out every day. The only times they had to stay in the coop was when it was that deep freeze this past January. Their bird netting over their run collapsed onto it, and i had to let them out the people door to free range till we got the netting back up. That took 2 weeks.

OK, I have 16 chicks (5 Buffs, 5 Red Sex Links, and 6 Black Australorps). They will be 5 weeks Saturday and are pretty much into their Big Bird feathers. The lows here are going to be in the mid to low 50s this week, then up into the 60s next week. Can I go ahead and put them out in a sheltered coop now, while the temps are in the 50s, or should I wait another week?

I had a heat lamp at night but by now you should be fine putting them out without one

Is any one looking for free mottled cotchin roosters? 12 weeks old?

I have 2 that I don't have a need for..... At least I think they are roosters. Not crowing yet.

I also have a blue red laced wyandotte 12 week old that seems calm I'm pretty sure it's a rooster. It popped out with a strait comb so it would not be good if your breeding to type. Free to a good home. If not he will probably taste good.....

I moved my older 6 out 2 weeks ago at 4.5 weeks old. Gave them an upside down cardboard box with a hole cut in the side so they could snuggle, if needed. They still love the box, ha.

I put mine out at 5 weeks old. Night time temps were low 40° then later at the end of week 5 they had one night that got to 30°they did have the heat lampoon the cold nights but I had no trouble. They need to have at least a small shelter to keep out drafts.

How old are your chicks? Mine were born 5 weeks ago.
