I'm *NOT* ready to purchase, but am trying to collect names right now of people, and relative locations to me for when I am ready. We still have a coop to build. I'm looking for Barred Rocks and Silver Laced Wyandottes. Brahmas are another possibility. I'd prefer not to hatch and I'm not sure about young chicks since I want to do the mother hen heating pad method with any I might get, and I'm not sure there will be power to the coop for it. I'm in Holly Hill, which is almost halfway between Charleston and Columbia, but marginally closer to Charleston.

Any leads? Thanks!

Welcome ! I subscribe to the SC Market bulletin. It's a service provided by the Dept. Of Agriculture. Farmers post ads for poultry and all kinds of livestock, plants, seeds, tools etc. Craigslist is another option. If you research the different threads for the breeds you're interested in on BYC who can often find someone close to you that sells them.
