So far, when I visit anyone's house, I'm bringing them a dozen (or two) eggs. My parents and sister eat a lot of them, so I keep them well stocked. We're averaging about 9 a day from 11 gals laying at the moment ... and a broody sitting on a clutch that's due to hatch this weekend.

Just got my new batch of RIR's, 12 cuties. I have 6 grown, 4 Buff Orpingtons and 2 RIR. One RIR rooster, but I think his new name is stir-fry since he attacks me about weekly

I have RIR and A pair of Buff Orpingtons also. After this past year I think I’m switching my RIR for all Buffs because of how aggressive the RIR rooster gets. The buff male is as gentle as the female

Thanks for the info on the buff roo, I may have to get one, I like the hens having a rooster around to help protect them.

Hey Everyone! When I lived in Georgia we had a monthly backyard chicken meeting. Sometimes we had a guest speaker but mostly we would get together and talk about our chickens and discuss any chicken concerns. It was nice chicken friendly group. I don’t know if anyone is interested. I live in Lexington and wouldn’t mind hosting it if anyone is interested. We could all meet in a restaurant that is more middle from where everyone is coming from.
