I'm here Donna, thanks for asking! Yes that storm was horrible but we were very lucky here, no damage just lots of mud. I know there are lots of trees down and just 1/2 mile down the road the power has been out. I'm so thankful we didn't lost power. A friend of ours was on the News tonight, the storm took out their storage building (destroyed it), took out a tree and flooded her kitchen. Brockman McClimon looks terrible as does the Airport.

Sorry about your little roo Amy. I lost a little pullet and I have no idea why. She was in a covered pen and everyone else in there was fine. That lightening was bad, I wouldn't rule it out. I wonder if the storm didn't just scare my little bird to death. She was laying against the door to the pen. They're in a chain link dog kennel covered with a tin roof, I guess it could have been lightening if she was the only one touching the metal.

I'm from Greenville, near Paris Mountain State Park. My Co-worker wanted to get some chickens and deemed me her research person, since I love to do that kind of thing. I ended up getting two Buff Orpington chicks to keep with her Silver Laced Wyandottes, Cuckoo Marans, and one little Silkie. I'm addicted! I really want to get an Americauna, but if I can't find one around the same age as these in the next few days, I'll just wait until next spring.
I love this website. It has been awesome for information and help. Is there anyone on here that was on the Urban Farm tour that Greenville had in May? That is what really got my co-worker motivated. She realized she could have the chickens where she lived and there was no stopping her!
