Has anyone else notice that the leaves are already turning? I love fall!

Debra, my friend that I hatch eggs for all the time, says this winter is going to be a rough one.

I've noticed the trees too. We have tons of forests all around the edge of our farm and clear pasture before that so I can really see them. I was wondering if it was because it had been so dry.

Why did your friend say that? Just curious...

hmm..goodness I'll have to check. I can't really remember at the moment. It was something like Faith Valley or Faith Fields I think. It was whatever my local feed store carries. I originally had them on Purina but switched them to that.

Is it Faith Way? I think that is the correct name.
Where do you buy it at? It seems to be really catching on in popularity.

The Faithway is what I use. It's what I've raised my black copper marans and blue marans on without any problem. I was just wondering if there was a food connection.

Oh gosh - I do NOT want to hear that. I hope she's wrong. I want a very long Fall and a very early Spring - I could live without Winter forever.

I feel the same way! I love Fall and Spring. Hopefully Fall will stick around for a while this year

I had started to notice the leaves changing. I love this time of the year..especially living so close to the mountains.

That does sound right. I buy it at Rogers Feed & Supply in Pelzer. They have really good prices there. The Faith Way was a good 5 or 6 dollars less than the Purina.

Yep - that is Faithway!

I drive to Rogers every week to buy food. Wonder if I've seen you there?

I usually have to go during my lunch break. Pretty sure they think I'm crazy trying to fit all that feed in my little civic. That's where we get our horse feed too so I usually load that poor little car down haha

She says the food is always still in the food bowls for her chickens, cats and dogs but they are still begging for more. She has seen a lot of deer coming through her pasture eating the hay she has out for her horses and it has been years since they have done that. Her horses haven't started furring up but she expects to see that soon. Her mini can get very wooly whereas my Quarter horse grows almost none.
The geese have really been landing a lot lately and filling up.

There were some other things but I forget them all. We get on the phone for ages and I forget all we talk about. It sure helps get my chores done when I have her to yak away at. Joy and I often do the same thing. We will be huffing and puffing in each others ears as we do chores! It just makes the time go by a bit better. But I digress....

.....has anyone seen any wooly worms lately? They say those tell what type of winter we will have.

I'm with you, Joy....I would love to see a long fall! I just love fall!

Everyone remember that chickens love pumpkins! Buy those treats for your birds!

I actually have to put a plastic one out next to my carport with my fall flowers because the chickens will eat a real one. I have a hard enough time keeping the apples away from them!

Me too! They load up my Jeep and still have to put 3 bags in the back seat. I can fit 17 bags in but anything more gets scary coming back down I-85. I buy my goat food there too. They are very nice and the food is good stuff but the price has started to creep up lately. I hold my breath everytime I go in there.
