And welcome to our SC thread! Pull up a chair or old cooler and sit a spell. Tell us about yourself a bit.
Do you raise a garden? Do you live on a lot of land or a small plot near town? Have you had chickens before or will this be your first venture with our fowl friends?
Do you already own an incubator or planning to purchase one?

Easley has quite a few chicken people around the area. Many of us are near you.
I live on the Greenville/Spartanburg county line between Greer and Landrum. You are welcome to come visit my place and see the several incubators I have running. I have been hatching out chicks for several years and it isn't as difficult as it would seem.

Please visit my website to see if anything interests you and you can see a few photos of my 'bators on my Housing page, too.

I love to meet folks from BYC and have many friends on here because BYC SC folks are the best!

What a yucky job!

I'll clean brooders, scoop out the duck coops, dump and fill the pools (all 5 of them), clean water containers and refill....yadda, yadda, yadda...before washing the dog! Did you see how big my dog is?

Great photos! Love that SLW girl. I just find them so striking! Your BOs are such a pretty gold color. I sold a pullet yesterday because the person just loved that gold but I didn't sell any of my GL or SLW that he wanted.

Did you see it is supposed to rain again on Friday?

Good job holding out on that sale! I know how you LOOOVVVEEEE to pass on to others when they beg and plead (us too) LOL! ...and dang the rain...crops and ground need it ...and the ducks probably love it but...I would rather tend and visit mine in fairer weather! As much as I try I am still not ready for winter and here it comes and goes so wishy-washy! Come on now...just pick a season for a while and let us adjust slooowlyyyy

Oh, well, gee whiz! You could put your dog through the washing machine. Hey! You cheated, didn't you?

If I could shrink my dog to wash her then she would get a bath. Geez, 3 lbs? Are you sure you have a real dog?

I'm glad you don't have outages either. You run a lot of bators, don't you?

I candled some of my eggs this morning as I had to move some to the hatcher and have some on Friday going in the hatcher. Everyone was alive and kicking!
clap.gif

I threw one of those huge and heavy moving blankets over the hatcher and big Sportsman when the power went out so I guess that kept it warm enough for the 4 hours it was cooling down.
Unfortunately, I forgot about Debra's bator so I hope all those eggs do okay. They have another 2 weeks to go so I am betting they are lost. That is a fragile time for them to get too cool. I did have some of hers in my Sportsman so not all is lost. But gosh, after my long winded speech to my DD about being responsible and then I do something like this.

Take heart Amy...there's a big difference between a long winded speech on responsibility and you needing 16 eyes AND 82 arms and hands to keep up with all on your plate...even when you love the plate full you have!!!

HAHAHA!!! Now taking orders for wild animal rugs!!!!

I want the black and white striped ones. Wait....do you have those running through your yard...?

I actually do love skins and hides. I have a cow hide in my hope chest that my friends in Brazil gave me. Sentimental value only. At one time I had it on my wall but it no longer fits my decor........er, maybe it does. Barn mess is a theme, right?

My mom can help with the black and white striped ones!!!LMAO
