I am going to take a nice long hot bubble bath, followed by a nice hot shower. Instead of picking up the roosters Monday, they came and picked them up today

Hilarious to see me & Nicole out chasing 23 roosters around our pasture and barn

(OK Nicole did more than I did - she was crawling under the brooder in the stall)
Still sold NO hens though

Yes, I'm sure Ideal sell them but I am looking for a nice heritage line and would like to stay away from the hatcheries.

I had 5 Dominiques but they were from a hatchery. Nice and laid back. And the boys are different than the girls so they're easy to sex (lighter or darker... I can't remember). Very pretty! I kept two girls but the hawk got them this summer.

So did anyone else see this news story about the now former supplier of eggs to Mcdonalds? It's sickening...there's a video attached but viewer beware..it's pretty sick..animal cruelty is disgraceful

I really want to go to the show tomorrow. My DH is due in about 11 tonight. Are these the kind of things you need to get there early? What time is everyone arriving? I was hoping to bring some silkies to sell. People do that, right? Obviously I've never been to a show before! But I won't have my crates by morning. I have some really nice 8-12 week old silkies if anyone is looking: black, blue, partridge and lavender.

He has been telling me to wait til spring

It was cold last year, some did not set up til 10. We left home early but cannot remember what time, but I wanted to watch people coop in.

For showing, everything has to be cooped in by 9 because that is when judging starts

Last year I think we stayed til 2 and was still a good many there.........seems like 400 or more birds in the show itself and then people set up outside to sell.

Just remember if a row is blocked off, don't go down it.

Judging is going on

This was a close friend up the road from me...he is a nice boy but she needs hens from you!! I drool over yours...I am just not doing silkies,focusing on D'uccles!! I...I mean Santa... will be coming to see you real soon!
