That is awesome about the roos! And boy, can I ever see Nicole rounding up those 23 roos. She is a great chicken and duck grabber! Oh, and great with Guineas, too!
DD helped me grab up the Guineas the other day in the pouring down rain when the man came to buy them. They were all in the coop anyhow but she wanted to help so I sure let her!

It is always easier with 2 people.
I know you did your part with the roos, Kimberly. You are a great helper here!

Yes, I'm sure Ideal sell them but I am looking for a nice heritage line and would like to stay away from the hatcheries.

I had 5 Dominiques but they were from a hatchery. Nice and laid back. And the boys are different than the girls so they're easy to sex (lighter or darker... I can't remember). Very pretty! I kept two girls but the hawk got them this summer.

I had a friend up in Landrum that was raising them. I haven't talked to him in years. His wife milked their goats and made goat cheese. Yummy.
They only had Doms. I had latched onto 5 heritage girls and when he saw mine he talked me out of them. I really liked them the short time I had them so I got 10 from a hatchery but could not hang on to those either. They sold like mad. Maybe because Grandmas used to have them. I gave up on them but I sure enjoyed them while I had them. They were small like the Leghorn and laid a huge egg like the Leghorn, too. Great foragers from what I could tell. I like a rose comb and may someday go back to them.

Oh yeah, imo, a barred bird looks like it has white and black bars on it but a cuckoo looks like it is blurred. Not sure if that will help identify barred birds over cuckoos.

Stop it! I want some lavenders! I love anything soft colored. Must be the girl in me.

I think we will make it by 10 am. We are still talking about it.
I think Kimberly can get here early for me if she doesn't have too many Tequila Sunrises tonight! Wait, that might be Margaritas! Ugh, I can't remember everyone's favorite drink!

I am sure it isn't more than 45 minutes from Jackie's house. Maybe an hour. Unless we have to stop to pee. Goodness! Three women in a car together!

PEE BEFORE WE LEAVE... LOL I am not used to potty breaks!

Just give me a bottle of tequila & I am happy!

It takes about an hr and half from here, I think

I did nothing but supervise and hold a net. Well I finally figured out how to use that stupid net. I did better with just my hands.

Got my exercise in for the month! So did Nicole when she had to chase down the last one that tried to run away from home!
