Wow, someone drove down from Ohio to get birds from you? That is wonderful!! Glad she found out what Marans really should look like! I must admit, my 2 Marans girls really like my Ameraucana roo. Maybe she bought her chickens from someone with a rogue rooster?

Thanks...I treated them last week after I found blood in the brooder but everyone was perky...treatment was done last wed...cleaned brooder sunday and poop looked soo good...I had them in my bathroom that is not being used but its dark in there(poor lighting) when I check/feed/water everyday...go in this afternoon and one dead from this morn and everyone is lethargic!! I was going to get brooder to clean...blood everywhere...changed brooder box(GIANT PLASTIC BINS) and mixed meds in water and put water in scrambled egg but 5 wont eat or drink...so I am droppering water with corrid and sugar every 20-30 mins...pray they improve before work in morn...

I was even using the medicated feed? Are they weak because most are from pullet eggs...except the cochins and the BLRW from amy...but they are the worst off along with my other Duccle in this bunch.

By the way amy...the BLRW is a foley bird...soo dark and pretty and def a hen!!! I am going to get good pics tonight for you off all that group...just in case...they are soo pretty and maybe you can tell me if any others are roos...I think all the cochins are!!!

To top it off my wry neck polkie is back wry again...the polyvisol had him norm fast...taking longer this time but he went down quick too!! Looking at me at bed time...dragging head in morn...cant put water in with him because he gets his head stuck in bowl so he is in chick hospital and gets dropper water every couple hours until I think he wont drown...also worried about him tomorrow...and yes I think HIM!! He has a roo crest and the other polkie(polish silkie cross) has the polish hen buffont!! He is more of a silkie feathering though and has quite a head of "hair"...any "80s band would be jealous! LOL

Amy...if you can let me know who is roo yet that would be awsome...I am just praying I can pull them through this latest crisis...this one group...mine included of my first 2 hatches has been tons of trouble...all 35 of my other birds...all good!!

I've made an observation about my guineas, the royal purples are mean. I have 2 royal purples that really chase the other birds. Yesterday, I saw the oldest royal purple grab another guinea by the tail feathers and they went round and round until feathers were plucked loose. Anybody else noticed this about their royal purples? It doesn't seem to be a problem with the young ones, just after they are adults that I notice this and only with the royal purples.
