I do not know where Strawberry Hill is that I can think of, unless it is off of 176 towards Inman from Campobello.

The only place in Campobello that I know of with grain is Williams feed mill.
Anyhow, Williams is easy to find. If you know 176 through Campobello, turn onto 357 at the PO, almost acroos the street from the Police station, go about 1/2 a mile and you will see silos on the left. There is a driveway that runs behind the house where the silos are, go behind the house to a small building and they are down there working. You will see a big building before that but they haven't moved into there yet. Just drive behind the house and someone will see you or there will be lots of cars and trucks waiting to back in and load up grain. It is like a Mom and Pop operation but that is how they keep the prices down. Although most feed has gone up lately. I think their starter is now $9.50. Layer is $9.25, maybe.

Also, Joy is trying to see how many people would like another brand of grain brought up from Possum Kingdom every week. The man delivers it to a place for Joy on the other side of Greenville and maybe others but if there gets to be enough folks he can meet closer to Spartanburg, I believe. Joy has all the details but the prices she gave me were wonderful and she says her hens and chicks do great on the feed. I plan on trying some as well. I like to support local places and goodness knows I go through the grain!
He has starter, whole grains kinda like Rockin Rooster (5 grain scratch), layer pellets and crumbles.

Which reminds me....I put out Purina Flockraiser crumbles last night and my birds won't touch it. I am glad I only bought one bag. Mine were raised with some Purina feeds so they know it but they just love the Williams stuff and whole grains and don't like much else. Even my chicks like the Williams grains better. I like to mix gamebird starter (27% protein) with the Williams and they will eat that but if I try to mix Circle M with it or Purina chick starter with it they won't touch it. They pick out the Williams and leave the rest. It used to be the opposite but they changed some stuff and now my birds love the Williams mash. I believe they added Sorghum.

I don't use purina....I have when I have had to but otherwise DH gets my chicken feed when he gets horse & goat feed - a place in Gaffney called Fox Hollow Farms

Will definately have to get him to take me to check out the campobello feed store!

Is that before 26 or after you cross 26 towards Chesnee?
I go 11 more towards Landrum. We pick strawberries over in Travelers Rest, usually. Been going there for 25 years or more. I may try Strawberry Hill this year, though. Sounds great. Blackberries grow on our farm so we pick them here for pies. Now the chickens have followed us and help themselves, too.

You live closer to Karen who is in Gaffney. She is a great lady and the one that gave me my lovely Jolie, the Great Pyr. We have met up at the gas station there on 11 at 26. It has been many years since I have been farther than that on 11.

I don't get to wander around the county much. First time to Inman was back this past August.

DH grew up in Gaffney. I am from NC originally. We married in '93 and lived in Gaffney awhile. Farm is still in Gaffney. I shopped in Gastonia for years after we got married because I could never get around Spartanburg! We have lived here in Spartanburg County since 1998, though

I seldom go to Spartanburg, myself. I grew up in Greenville and go to Greer more than anywhere. I take DD to school over in Inman but don't do too much there either. The Inman Feed Mill is too expensive! Just not much else there.
I have been to Gaffney a time or 2. They used to have the Gladiolus show over there and my DH grew acres of them and would show them but that was many moons ago.
Now that I work the farm full time I seldom get to go anywhere either.

I will certainly visit Strawberry Hill this April though. Looking forward to some homemade strawberry ice cream again, made with fresh goat's milk!

DH enjoys the peach better but we make as much as we can of all of it!

Snick,

Yes I put em in the bator @ 9am Friday morning. Will candle this time next week probably. I can't wait!

Do ya'll recommend a digital hygrometer? I was thinkin of getting one, but I've read on here that some say its pointless. Lisa, Amy, Eric.....ya'll chime to too!!

I use one in my Sportsman and one in my Genesis 1588, too. I change the batteries every 2 months since they are in there constantly. Mine are the ones with temp and humidity read outs. I love them.

I went to wallyworld(walmart) and got a $6.50 thermometer/hydrometer and stuck it in the bator. I was reading on here that you need to calibrate it with salt water and a ziplock bag...I never did but i will with the next batch of eggs. Hey a guy at work is giving me a EE roo and I can hatch some of my own eggs then. I also have been reading that petsmart or petco has a accurate manual thermo0hydro.
