Anyone know where I could get cheap, local, materials for a coop? (Like close to free?)
We have one coop, but I want another one for the silkies. . .and then I'm sure I'll need to build or get a few containment areas for the roos. (we don't trust roos after our oldest was attacked when he was two, he still has scars)

Amy, guess who started crowing this morning?! Little George the sizzle roo! It's so cute! And he hits all 5 notes. I'm sure the ladies were not as impressed as I was, seeing how we just got rid of Hannah the rooster...

I know some are pretty and some are croaky but I have never noticed how many notes are reached.

foxygoober, start driving the roads. You will see people are starting to clean up yards and garages with the warmer weather and throwing stuff to the curb. You will find an abundance of materials from other's trash.

I had someone give me some girls claiming they were RIRs, which is why I wanted them. I saw them and informed the person those are not RIRs and they were adamant that they were. Now I ain't the brightest bulb in the drawer (

) but I know a RIR from a sex link. I now have red sex links though that person still insists these birds with a lot of white are RIRs because that is what the person that sold them to them told them.
