I think they are around 10 weeks the chickens. No idea on the pheasants. I don't know anything about the species. I've got a lot of learning to do. I think he told me but I had a lot to absorb when I saw all the pretty birds at his house.

I've got the same Problem....My HUGE Roo a BlueJG (are not known to be overly aggresive,) but mines a teenager and alittle to well....a teenager... so I have to keep a close eye on him for now cause he hasn't won the hearts of his flock, so the younglings are the butt of his anger. So when he goes near them I give a good yell and stomp and he backs off, But I try to stop it before it starts. And my Poor Little Polish chick has no idea none of this is even going on(bless her, she sees happy moments only). I have no idea when i will be able to put the little ones into the BigCoop....

I get the biggest kick out of you talking about her. And I can just see her little Pom Pom head turning this way and that saying "Huh? What did I miss?"

Wish I lived closer. I would be glad to help out. But it looks like you are several hours from me. Maybe someone down your way will jump in.

How horrid! How can someone be so stupid....so cruel.....so horrid!!? I hope their body parts fall off!

Yay! Looks great! Trip to Charlotte is cancelled but cleve broke his tibia yesterday in California (brillany) so Uhm yeah, anyone want to take care of a 40 year old baby? He's flying home right now and we find out Monday if he needs surgery. I think I'm just gonna set his bed up in the coop and let the girls tend to him

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that, Jackie! Best wishes for a quick and less whiny recovery. Did he fly out there or did he drive? Surely he didn't leave his car out there?
Good idea on the bed in the coop. The girls would certainly tell him what they thought of his moans and groans! Goodness knows I get covered in poop every day and I do the feeding and watering! Poor Cleve though, he will be miserable for the next few weeks. You won't get anything done and rest will be impossible!

Mine lay pretty much the same color all the time. More intense color at the start of laying season and sometimes fading down to almost white on the blue eggs. Olive Eggers seem to hold their color better.
I read on one thread where a hen was laying a different color every day and they showed photos but from what I saw there were more hens laying eggs. No way they can change from blue to green to olive and back to blue in 2 weeks time. I think the person was confused about who laid what. My girls all lay about the same shade all the time. Totally gorgeous!

And you know there are no dumb questions!!!!!

Just not sure which ones yet. Probably the free range flock but it is too small for them all. I have another one to finish right beside that one. I have got to put Runners in one of them because I definitely want to breed more of them!

Kimberly, Nicole and her boyfriend came over yesterday afternoon and helped me with tagging the Golden Cascades and Saxony in pink or blue so I would know what I have and what i can sell or put in the freezer.

Heading out to finish the chicken coop, or at least finish it to the points the chicks can move in. It will still need permanent roosts added and the run will need to be built in the next couple of weeks, but Lou Ann and I will have fun today with the power tools, I'm sure! I'm so glad the weather is cooler this morning, even if it doesn't stay this way very long.
