Sounds reasonable. I hope she responds in a positive way!

I candled your eggs and you had 9 that were clear but the others are growing. The lavs are still in the race! I think you lost whites and a buff, BBS.... I saved the eggs so you could see. Hatch date is approaching and I know you are eggcited!

B-U-T-ful birds there, Yancy! What is the black girl on the end? It looks like she has white toenails like a Marans.
Hey, do you want Jackie and I to look for you some Polish up at the sale next Sat.? Babies or hens or something? Then again, you may be over on Joy's doorstep when those hatch because they sound too gorgeous!

Joy, you just can't stand it, I know. You have to fill that big bator. Here I am slowing down on hatching (or trying to) and you have a new one to fill up!
I think I only have a few more hatches and I will be through for the year. It will probably still run as I have a few friends that like for me to hatch for them and I don't mind as long as they feed the chicks in the end! My problem is I don't want to sell my beautiful babies. Crazy me.
I have cleaned the brooder room out so well and have so few chicks in there now that I discovered a blue Cochin. It is solid, not mottled. It has to be one from shipped eggs because I do not think I can get solid blue from my birds and it is around the age of ones that I hatched from shipped eggs and there were a few oops eggs in there. It looks pullet so I may save it along with my blue Mottled for the Frizzle pen. (You see what I mean!)
And I have another blue Sizzle growing up. A beautiful shade of soft blue with those curling feathers. I hope it's a girl.

I would say this a work day for me but we had other plans and then they fell through so it is just another normal day for me. Which means nothing because I get emails and calls all the time but I don't have anyone scheduled. I need to run to Walmart anyhow. I am out of creamer for my coffee!

Gotta have the Hazelnut creamer!

Don't work too hard, Joy!

RedBug, I candled Guinea eggs last night. I think I lost 4 of yours. I need to put them in the hatcher tomorrow! Can you believe it? Already?
I might have to wait an extra day as I have 36 of my friend's hatching today. She usually has a few stragglers.

Since Guineas are smaller I may hatch them in the bottom of the Sportsman and put the lid on it. And I guess this means another brooder down at the barn again.

At least I cleaned it up well and can put it in a good spot. I surely love my big brooders out in the coop. They have helped so much to grow chicks up once they are out from under a light. It won't work in the winter but for now they have helped tremendously.

I will share photos when they hatch, Heidi!

Our first EGG has arrived!!!!!!!!

Now a question~ since we still have the rooster these eggs would be fertile right?? I marked it with the date and if there are more today I will do the same. Will she (princess) sit on them and hatch them on her own if I leave them in the nest box?? I actually would like to try and hatch them if it's possible since they should be fertile. I was so excited I came in the house yesterday doing the happy dance~

Now I guess I will go see if there are any more eggs

I have my dad in town to so he has been having fun with my farm!

I didn't see anymore in there and then one is cold to the touch

So I guess they won't hatch them? Do I need a bator to hatch it or can I just keep it under a heat lamp?
