OMG---I AM SO MAD I CAN"T SEE STRAIGHT!!!

I got this e-mail tonight....

Nikki,
I will be happy to send you a 50.00 refund, but in turn you need to ship the bird back to me. The crossed beak is not a breeding defect, its just something that occurs in all breeds, maybe 1 out of 100 chicks. She is laying and will produce chicks with all of the fine genectics that her parents carry. So you let me know what you would like to do. She will produce you or myself many nice babies, I can't just give her away. I always try to apease my customers and can count on one hand folks that werent returning customers. Just let me know what you would like to do. I tryed to work with you, but I don't think to high of people questioning my intergrity.

***ETA: I checked into filing a dispute with PayPal. Apparently disputes cant be filed after 45 days, and a dispute cant be filed unless it is for goods or services. I did contact them via e-mail. I'm waiting on their response. I'm thinking I have no recourse here

Lou Ann and I gave the girls some corn cobs today and it was lots of fun watching them try to decide what to do with them. Here are a few pictures from this afternoon.
Instead of trying to crowd around the bowl with everyone else, one of the Golden Girls, decided to go for the watermelon.

Harriet seems to think that since she is smaller, she can just stand in the middle of the bowl and get her food!

One of the Golden Girls. I think this is Buffy. I'm going to get some leg bands (or zip ties) on them soon so I can tell them apart!

Nikki - I would be furious as well. I think I would tell her that I was questioning the quality of her birds, but her integrity is starting to speak for itself. And I'd be glad to return the bird as soon as she sends the refund plus shipping and handling for the bird. This was HER mistake. Remind her of that and go ahead and tell her that if she isn't willing to make her mistake right then you will start a complaint through PayPal and they will help you. AND if that doesn't get her motivated then I would follow thru with PayPal AND I would tell her that you have many folks on BYC asking who in the world she is so that we don't buy from her - you may be inclined to share her name and email address. Now that's just my opinion, I don't take to kindly to people who take advantage. She sold you a poor pet quality bird and it seems to me that you paid for top show quality. It is her fault she's in this mess but I don't think it was a mistake. I think she knew what she was sending you and she didn't care. If I'd made that terrible mistake, I'd be very quick to make it right and I would be most apologetic. So, this is just my 2 cents and the way I'd probably handle the situation. Not saying that is the best way, maybe someone else will have a better idea but it makes my blood boil and I'd be speaking with my temper. You know, she'd be lucky to have you keep her cross beaked bird. I've had one little bantam like that and I gave it away to someone as a pet. I certainly wouldn't breed it as it is either genetic or caused from a virus - either way it's not a good thing to have. Do your research, find some articles online and send them to her. You may need them for a PayPal complaint anyway. I'd be proving to her that she is wrong on all accounts.

I did reply with, "How have you tried to work with me? Yes, you are willing to ship me a new bird, but at my expense. And, Yes you will give me a refund if I return the bird. Neither option seems fair to me. Either way I loose and that doesn't seem right. And, this really seems fair to you?"

Again I've researched fling disputes on PayPal: It must be done fast (45days), and the dispute can only me for goods and services. I tried to file a dispute tonight, but it says I did not buy goods or services. Go figure? I think I'm screwed.

I really really want to bash this woman!! I'm thinking of posting a warning page on my website to warn others of this woman. That's what I really want to do!!
