Tell her that a cross beaked bird is not even breeder quality and you refuse to use such a poor specimen in your breeding program. Therefore if she won't replace her mistake at her cost, she should refund the difference in price between a SQ and a PQ silkie.....I would say a cross beaked PQ bird is worth $10 tops. I would not give her any more money for any reason.....and if she won't refund the difference you should definitely take some good pix of the cross beaked bird and help oother buyers beware.

Do NOT send her any more money!

Ugh! Just be done with it. I'm not sure what her "bad season" has to do with this situation. Just an excuse.

If anyone lives in Spartanburg City limits it is looking promising that they will be changing their animal ordinances tomorrow night to allow for chickens, or at least hens. Here's the story I saw on wspa.com today.

BUT if she did not have the money to ship another bird to you, where she gonna get the $50 to refund you?

It is NOT a breeder quality bird. It is pet quality. Her price was NOT for pet quality. She should reimburse you the $50 and that be the end of it. I would offer to take $40 at bottom price. And if she pays fine, if not, cut your losses. Add her to your list of breeders to NOT buy from.

Basically a pet quality bird is any with a defect from the standards, at least to most people. I do know everyone has different standards for each "quality". That being said, a crossbeaked bird is in NO WAY breeder quality.

If I am going to pay a pretty penny for a bird, AND have it shipped, there are only 3-5 breeders I would choose to ship from.
That person was NOT one of them.

My goodness you miss one day and the thread has run crazy....I had an car accident and Poor Stella(my dodge ram truck) is all up in the car hospital. I hydroplaned across 85 and hit the guardrail. I suffered only cuts, bruises and the right side of my body is very very soar! It was the scariest thing ever, slow motion scary.

Happier News: Momma is taking VERY good care of her babies!

Amy did I see something about polish babies on your roadtrip???!!!! Whens the trip, and where are you guys going? I'm gonna try to find it in this thread!
