Kimberly (Chickychickybaby) would probably know more about that than I would. I went in Feb to buy birds and support all of chickenkind but do not show so I can't really say. Maybe the website for the American Poultry Assc. would have it by now.

the NCPoultry group on Yahoo is where I get info for that show - Once it gets closer, there will be a post up on the chickenstock section of BYC with who to contact for registration etc.

I think in NC your birds have to be AI tested before showing. I do not think they test at the door anymore for anything.

Here is what is coming up in NC & SC
** 10-29-11 ** Morganton, NC ** Friendship Poultry Club
** 11-05-11 ** Morganton, NC ** OEGBCONC: Old English Jamboree
** 11-19-11 ** Clemson, SC ** Anderson all Bantam Club
** 11-26-11 ** Winston-Salem, NC ** Forsyth Fowl Fanciers Club
** 12-03-11 ** Orangeburg, SC ** Sandlappers Poultry Breeders
** 12-10-11 ** Smithfield, NC ** Cape Fear Feather Fanciers

Thanks for the info Kimberly!

hi all got a general feeding question. I bought my first bag of pellet layer instead of the crumbles.. how long does it take them to make the switch over.. they do not like it and I'm afraid I wasted the whole bag.. I don't want them to drop weight not now at laying time for them should I just go buy a bag of crumbles? they said pellets would be less waste but they are kicking it all over the place looking for their good stuff that their used to..

. what the heck.. they are going to really hurt the cattle business. small ranchers wont be able to aford to feed their stock. so their prices will drop, per pound, just so the ranchers can hope to pay the moratge on the land.. guess I'll keep my little flock little.. have to feed 8 horses too the winter.. this just kills me..

. ahhhhh not gonna be a big christmas thats for sure..

They're both silkies. Splash is a color. This is a splash silkie.

They are kind of grey and mottled. Some are more dark and others are lighter. They're all beautiful no matter what color!

Gotta love that puffy head. I don't care what color they are!

Oh yeah, Pink, you're right. Cowboy is a bantam Cochin, a mix of splash and Mottled and such a handsome little man. He is producing some adorable chicks. I can't wait to see what they will grow up to look like.

Here you go, Heidi! I couldn't get them all in a photo but you can see the cuties that are hatching out. And see I put an H on the eggs so I would know they were from you.

Ignore the chick in the photo. One of Debra's appeared late in the game. It is waiting on brothers and sisters to possibly hatch late with it. It is happy to have some keets today though as it was all alone last night in the hatcher.

And as of now I have 9 of yours out and more pipping!

Ok..so I listed one of my blue orpington roos on craigslist. I knocked the price from $10 to $5 bc they have GOT TO GO! lol..they are soo dang loud. Anyways, a person text me today about them and is very interested in the roo but asked if I had a hen to go with him. I told them no at first but I could stand to get rid of a couple and told them I could sell them a pair for $25..which I think is reasonable for a good quality pair. Before I told them this they said they'd pay "good money" for a hen. After I said $25 for a pair they then said they'd give me $20. I just said I'd think about it. Is $25 unreasonable? I know people just want to get a deal...but I've got a lot of money in these birds. Just wanted ya'lls opinions. Thanks!
