South Carolina

OK, my addiction is showing. I'm wondering though, if any of the exhibitors at the fair might offer their birds for sale? I haven't been to the fair in years, and back when I was a kid, I seem to remember some did.

Though I went expecting to get the pharaoh quail, the breeder had Georgia giants. Ended up getting 12 of those and was happy about it. Then, as I am walking along carrying my birds to the truck, minding my own business ZAP! BAM! Zoom! I saw some mountain quail and was struck by Quail math! Luckily, he only had 2 pair and was only willing to let one go...... Phew! Dodged the bullet on that one! But I'll have more later

ETA again: RedBug, you'll never believe who I got them from! She has one of your silkie roos, and one of your polish roos!

Yippee, Jackie! I would love it if you came! I don't even mind putting your bike in the back of my truck and taking you back home afterwards.

Nah, I am sure you would be able to ride back just fine but I'm here if you need me.

Gosh, I have been so busy lately I haven't had a chance to get on here much and now here I am trying to catch up!

Well, I read some and now am going back outside because I bought a nice new cordless drill so I need to get busy with it!

Showing off my new toys.

Bought these from a guy down by Greenwood, he has four more. He seems a nice guy, a kid really, but he lost all his chickens to predators. Coyotes he thinks. He was going to free range them for eggs but has decided to give up. Hated to hear that but he has to do what he has to do. We talked for awhile and he knows quite a bit about chickens and sounds like he had some real nice birds. He has four more of these if anyone wants to buy one or four. He's real close to Abbeville by the way where the 4H thing is next week.
I need to clean them up some before I can use them. Still has a fair amount of poo on the tops of them. Insides are still clean and full of fresh pine shavings. He must have had the roost bars folded up on these the whole time. Contact me at my email if you want contact info. Add "nest boxes" to title so I know that it's not junk mail. [email protected]
