I suppose I better go collect mine up. Ducks I can do early since they lay early morning but those chickens spit them out all day so you never know when to find them!

Well I hope everyone is enjoying this much needed, cooler weather. I was hoping for rain but so far have seen none.... I sometimes worry what I wish for.... Oh, we got a polish egg yesterday!! The cochins are laying very good for them, but I assume the polish must be feeling better if they are starting to lay again! Now if they can just avoid catching the pox! No, silkie eggs yet but we did hatch 2 silkies earlier this week from egg we got from the silkies we sold--oddly they look white or very light splash and they were out of a buff and light buff rooster, so what if that about?

Fingers are still crossed and we only have the one case of fowl pox!

Please no more fowl pox!

Ok...this question is for my Mom, She just finished a new coop/run for her EEs and it is near a HUGE cedar tree.The tree has the lil blue berries on it and they are all on the ground where she built the run and are in the run.When she put the gals in the went nuts eating the berries,IS THIS SAFE?

I would try to rake any extras up and watch their dropping. You will know in a day or two if they are giving the birds a problem but I would not think the problem will be an over night thing.

This week is just bizarre. Watched an owl take my beautiful splash blrw chicky. Probably 9 weeks old now? Around 5.30 tonight. Waaaaahhhh! Take the cockerels instead!!!

omg thats terrible, i watched a hawk tale my chihuahua last fall. and my old landlord had a baby goat taken by a hawk last year​
