And if your temp is lower than 100.5 you are more likely to have a few more days added to hatching times. I seldom test an egg for life until day 22 and have often tapped on one and it tap back so I just let it finish cooking.
My Cuckoo Marans hatch at 21 days, the black copper marans usually hatch by 23 days. I've never had any go 25 days. My blue marans are from this past Spring's hatch so these are the first eggs that I've incubated from them. I was really surprised that they were fertile, and thrilled that one hatched!
Also meant to say that this incubator holds a steady 100.5 temp, so far without fail.
