So yeah there were no less than 20 coyotes in the backyard last night. Freakiest noise ever. They ran throught the front yard and went down the deck stairs!!!

We have them here too. They are scary. We are near a fire station and whenever the Siren sounds the coyotes drown it out with their howling. But the raccoons are what is bothering me right now. Jackie we've taken to keeping the rifle beside the door. Coyotes are fast. And mine come during daylight too so watch out.

We used to have bad coyote problems but then apparently some deer hunters got together and put a large dent in the population. They put all the "leftovers" from having their deer processed in a big pile and all stationed themselves around it. They killed somewhere around 25 coyotes in one night. Those suckers are awful..they were killing whole herds of goats

So I figure they got what they deserved!

I'm glad you don't have outages either. You run a lot of bators, don't you?

I candled some of my eggs this morning as I had to move some to the hatcher and have some on Friday going in the hatcher. Everyone was alive and kicking!

I threw one of those huge and heavy moving blankets over the hatcher and big Sportsman when the power went out so I guess that kept it warm enough for the 4 hours it was cooling down.
Unfortunately, I forgot about Debra's bator so I hope all those eggs do okay. They have another 2 weeks to go so I am betting they are lost. That is a fragile time for them to get too cool. I did have some of hers in my Sportsman so not all is lost. But gosh, after my long winded speech to my DD about being responsible and then I do something like this.

I did run a huge bator and 2 smaller ones.... nothing is on now......have had them off since end of july first of aug.

Well it looked like only 2 of my eggs that weredeveloping actually died. Had a few that simply didn't develop. I still have 25 eggs in my bator today and they are all definitely alive. I could see in a lot the chicks wiggling around like hey! I'm here! Don't toss my egg please!!

I am a newbie to the incubation process. Anyone from the Easley area interested in getting together and teaching me a little of what you know? I should also say that I currently have no local source for getting fertilized eggs, nor do I have a rooster. I would love to connect with someone I could purchase those from locally. Any advice/help would be appreciated. I read a lot on here and it certainly has helped, but I am way too visual and hands on to grasp some of the ideas I read about on here. Thank you so much!!

HAHAHA!!! Now taking orders for wild animal rugs!!!!

I want the black and white striped ones. Wait....do you have those running through your yard...?

I actually do love skins and hides. I have a cow hide in my hope chest that my friends in Brazil gave me. Sentimental value only. At one time I had it on my wall but it no longer fits my decor........er, maybe it does. Barn mess is a theme, right?

Wow, so no babies for you through the winter. How awesome!
I am winding down but Debra and Donna still want to hatch and I have a neighbor and some other friends that want to use my bator so I have it going still. I try not to set any eggs but my Mille Fleur Cochins are just turning out so gorgeous it is hard not to set any of their eggs.

Two weeks from this coming Sat for the show in Clemson!
