Very good point! I actually owned more guns than my husband with we got married. My Dad was really into guns. Not a problem here.....

I have my concealed weapon permit and it was a great experience. I'd been around guns but wasn't totally comfortable shooting. I will say I got to a point where I carried a gun to the barn with me because of some vandalism that happened at the church we're next too..you never know what kind of crazies are around. Just FYI..the law used to be that someone had to be inside your house for you to shoot them. That has changed..if you feel you are in danger and they have intentions to hurt you just shoot them! Before the law changed I said I'd just drag their butt into the house after I shot 'em!

I highly recommend taking a class in concealed weapon or just handgun use.
I was raised with guns, am a horrid shot with a pistol but have one that won't miss, not to mention one of those terrible shotguns. It may dislodge my shoulder but at least I will kill something. And the handgun is for close range anyhow so anyone coming in the house will get full of lead somehow and outside I can hit with the rifle or shotgun. Deer rifle has a scope so running away does no good.
Shot in the back? Darn, they turned away just as I pulled the trigger. Not my fault. I was scared when they were facing me.

Now a days I feel it is best everyone, man or woman to go through a class on safe handling and preferably concealed weapon. I just love the commercial about Texas Guns.

I have owned a hand gun for probably 15+ years. I fired MAYBE 20 bullets with it when I first got it. I don't have a CCWP - but if I leave my property with mine, I do not conceal it.
If that makes sense. I do what I was told to do all those years ago & that is all.

I did fire about 30 rounds with it a couple of months ago. Let's say DH & the neighbor got a kick out of that.... I was politely told that if someone did come in the yard, at least the intruders would still be here when the cops got here, because I would have shot their feet off

ETA: I cannot hit a thing if it is still. Moving targets I can usually hit. IDK why neither of the guys would tie some jugs in the tree and shake it for me

I picked this gun out myself. DH hates it. I don't mind it.

I am so tired of rain. It can stop already! I have a truck load of grain to unload and it is waiting under the carport.
I was so bored I just watched the movie TinTin. You know you can get free movies on the internet.........2 pieces of Christmas cake later I need to burn off those calories! Maybe I will clean the kitchen now.......

For anyone that doesn't know, Williams will be closed Sat and Monday for Christmas. I know the mail will run Sat but not for the next two Mondays. Messed up my auctions on Ebay but I am just amazed at the folks still buying hatching eggs.

I was throwing eggs in the incubator away today after a hatch and heard one peep. It had not pipped and was pretty wrapped up in there but I work at it for over 3 hours to get him out with out bleeding him to death and letting him get too cold. So far he is still alive and moving around in the hatcher alone and trying to eat. I hope he stays alive after all that--its a little fighter. And a BC Marans.

Is anybody else knee deep in MUD???? I know we needed rain but Geez Louise, what do ya'll do about the mud? I can hardly walk in places, the yard is such a mess. And we won't even talk about my front porch. The chickens have spent 2 days there now...watching it rain.

I gotta relocate my free rangers. They seem to like the front yard much better than the pature. It's getting kind of bad.

Go to movies2k and you can watch them for free. No downloads or anything. I should have been doing house work but wanted to see this movie since they started advertising it so kicked back in the recliner and watched it. We have a big screen on our computer so it is pretty nice to watch movies on.

No, I am setting all my Marans eggs myself so I will have some blues to sell in the spring. they seem to be in high demand and I am so tired of everyone asking for them and not having enough to sell. Since we like the meat so well it doesn't bother us to have a lot of those.
