In today's economy, wouldn't you think they would be forward thinking and hope that if you build something new, someone else might buy land and do the same? Theybhave to let someone do it, otherwise, the home values will never rise, which will not help anyone out there. Sometimes, you just have to wonder what they are thinking. I a, sure you will find the right lender who sees this as an opportunity to increase their business in the future.
I am thrilled everyone made it through the night. Love the comment about Spartacus. They are probably thinking, "Hey, he wasn't part of the deal!"

Got soooooo mad at my guinea girl this morning! Stupid thing blasted out of the front of the coop and proceeded to have melt down that she wasn't by her friends but refused to let me catch her. Oh well she's just gonna have schreech at her friends from the other side of the fence today!

Glad everyone did well. I think they know enough to stay close to their flocks. Spartacus is going to learn so much from his new "family" and he is puppy enough to still want to play. His new buddy will teach him to settle down and keep an eye out. Though I must say that even at 3 1/2 years old Jolie still does her share of playing. She has a blast playing "scare the cat"! And a soft fuzzy ball is quickly "killed" and shredded.

I know you are anxious to get started on the house. I am not thrilled with storm season either but can take it much better in this double wide mobile home that never moves rather than that single wide that swayed with the winds. Sitting on top of a hill is a pain, too especially out in the open.

I hope you find a lender that is smart enough to realize your home has a great future and will be an asset rather than a problem.

Guineas are so retarded sometimes.

I have had 2 that have spent the last 2 nights running up and down the fence screaming for the others after everyone is in bed. They are just not bright enough to go over the now 2 ft fence (was 3 ft but time has pushed it down...well, the horse and bigger birds) so I close everyone else up to give them time to figure it out but the ding dongs won't even go in through the gate. They just keep running past it so I have to spook them and then they fly over and run inside the coop. I swear, you have to wonder how they have survived and not gone extinct. They are real proof that evolution doesn't effect everyone!

And my ear still hurts so I hope it is one of those dummies that is stressed out at night! Serves it right for trying to use my ear as a launch pad!

Oh Jackie you are so right, just leave her out to fuss, you wont catch her and she will never figure out the entrance. Amy, you are so right how in the world can guineas survive, as stupid as they are. We seem to always get one in my front yard who can not figure out to fly back over the fence. I am always rescuing, her.

But you have to love those silly birds.

I do love my Guineas. They are a lot more trouble than I care for sometimes but they have been helpful with the fire ants in some areas.

Recently one male Guinea has started grabbing the tail feather of the young roos in the grow up pen. The guineas can fly out but the youngsters stay in and I suppose the male Guinea is afraid they will get after the girls. however, they bothered one of my dark Brahma pullets for a while too. I got onto them a few times and they stopped but are now making it hard on the young roos.

Never a dull moment on the farm!

Now the ones in my big tractor are doing well. They crowd against the fence when I go into feed them but once I pour it in the hopper they loosen up and Slate will come over and start eating. The others will soon follow especially once I leave the pen. I suppose they are just not as domesticated yet as chickens are. I can't imagine showing them! But I know some people do show them. I am quite entertained with them running around now and do not find them as odd looking as I did earlier this year. It is funny that I have seen them all my life but never paid any attention to them until this past year.

No problem. My DH always laughs when one of the chickens gets me and when he saw my ripped up ear he chuckled. I don't mind. War stories are pretty cool.
I would say I am waiting on that Purple Heart but I am afraid someone would present me with Heart soup or stew and I don't care for the hearts.
