Dag nab it! That is frustrating as all get out! Sorry about that!

I have been seeing a lot of Great Pyrs on Craigs List lately. Most of the time they have been house dogs and are not as helpful with chickens. The ones that are good with livestock go quickly!
I would prefer an Anatolian next time but if I come across a Great Pyr that seems like it would fit in I would take it. Hair aside, they are great dogs! Although DH tells Jolie she is only a good Pyr, not great! LOL She knows he is teasing her!

My house dog is turning into a good chicken dog......and poop eater.

My Lab cannot run lose because she will bite...but she does not bother the birds at all.
My house dog is a 6 year old pit...and lordy you should hear her bark (she doesn't bark often) when the guineas get started. She knows the difference between the girls calling and the boys raising an alarm. We go outside to check the chickens and she runs around each pen checking them out. She doesn't chase the loose ones, or try to bother the others, but she does eat poop

Yeah, weird, huh? Losing a Muscovy is almost unheard of but I think it was Penelope. I will have to check later when Herman is more in the love mood since Penelope was his sweetheart.
I do have a Muscovy laying right now, along with the Pekin and a Runner, I think.

It is weird how we have ours in different conditions but I lost one. It just had to be something else going on but no one acted like they felt bad. Most of them were flying around yesterday afternoon so I wonder if she had a rough landing somewhere.

And, yes, mine seem to be talkative all night long! When I get up during the night I can hear them down there just a chattering! Why they want to talk all night is beyond me!

Dixie, do you have neosporin? I usually gob that on before I blue kote just for extra measures. Gobbing it on after will not hurt either.

I am so sorry to read about peoples losses due to this cold spell and other reasons. I hope we have a short winter!

By spring I will be making a trip to Susanne's. After we pay our taxes in Feb or March. I plan on coming home with babies!
