Joy, I want to say that I thought of you yesterday.......as I slipped in the mud and fell on my hip, arm and then back! I don;t see any bruises today but I sure am sore where I wretched my neck and shoulder.

It is still muddy but I am enjoying the sun. Just had to pop back in here for a much needed bowl of ice cream.

So sorry Amy - I can still feel the ground smacking the back of my head. It was painful, hope you're not too sore. I'm sure the icecream helped a lot.

Be careful out there, it is a mess. The sunshine is such a welcome site, and the warm temps are wonderful.

But....but....dagnabit! You don't live close to me!
I wish I could travel more. I just gave a big sigh of relief a few months ago when DD said she was not going to show piggies any more. Just where are those transporters like they showed on Star Trek? I could really use those! I love to be different places, just not the traveling part.

I know and actually I am still working on DH--well, I am at the point where I am just saying I am going whether he is or not. There is a person in up state Georgia that has some really nice show quality Dominiques I want some eggs from--so he said he would bring eggs for me to the show and I am going to get them. Well, and enjoy the show while I am there. But yes, if I got the birds for you it would be like taking them further away not closer probably.

The Newnan SHow is the same weekend as the big dog show here in Greenville. Unfortunatly, I just agreed to take the show chairman position. So I have to be at the dog show. I so wanted to go to the poultry show.

I hope to get to a good poultry show this year.

Wow, there is a lot going on that weekend--it is also the same weekend as Mardi Gras!

This was today's egg collection. When Lou Ann went to gather the eggs after work, she found five eggs in one box and three in the other. She said she blinked a couple of times and counted again. Yep. Eight eggs. Seven chickens. Someone was super busy today. Looks like it was Maranda the Marans.
Lou Ann said she had checked the box last night when she took water up to them and the boxes were empty so they are definitely today's eggs.
I am now officially on chicken duty for the next week-I sure hope they behave themselves.

How nice and they gave you an extra!!

I would do it in a heartbeat! However, he belongs to DH and was born and raised here on the farm. The only time he has been anywhere was to a few horse shows as a yearling and 2 year old. I suppose he will die here and with as much as he tears up my chicken fences and pens, can't be soon enough for me.

Gosh, I sound mean. But when you have to fix fences every week that get torn up because he tears down hog wire topped with barbed wire, you understand.

Now I wanna go to the chicken show soooo bad!!!

If I could afford it I would buy you a nice fluffy Cochin for your troubles of going and picking them up for me. But as it is, I can't afford to buy all that NellaBean is offering for sale in the Mottleds. Those are some nice birds! I want them all!

I think he would give me the same answer on a job and if I explained it to him then he would probably point to the girls and say he already has a job and is doing quite nicely with it, too. However, producing chicks isn't quite the same as producing money. Now if he could just get the hens to put $100 in each egg then I would think he has the right idea!

My hubby can be like that but in more than 32 years of marriage I still never think about what I say or how I say it! I love to hear the wise cracks that can be made from it since my brain doesn't work that way. Always gives me a good laugh! I don't take offense at it either.
Robert will have a good time twisting my words on Sat.! I feel bad for you, Kris. You may want to punch him by the time you have been here a short while. I step in it a lot!

I thought that happened to me last week when I went to collect eggs from one of the Cochin coops. There were 2 blue eggs in the big nest box and there was only one EE hen that lives in the pen with the bantam Cochins so I scratched my head over that one until I was fluffing out the nest a few days later and found a few extra eggs. I then realized that someone is burying them as they fluff their own nest.
