Hello
I'm new to the byc and I'm trying to get started with chickens. I live in georgetown sc and wanted to know if any body close would build me a chicken coop and run for a fare price. I'm wanting toget 4-6 large hens for eggs. I live in an area with alot of predators and need a very secure coop. If you build coops r know some one who does please let me know. Thanks

I am getting so excited about this show at Newnan! How am I going to know any body? Should I wear a big sign around my neck? Hum, probably my DH would not go for that.... How about a little sign?

Colin and I had our first beekeepers class last night. We were late and had to sit in the front row! Oh, dear. It was from 6:30-9:00 which is pretty late for my boy but he hung in there. Bees are fascinating! It was a ton of information but we'll explore each one in more detail. The classes go until March 24. Did you know that Sevin Dust is deadly to bees? Guess I'll have to dust my coops with something else. I'm really excited to get bees. The lady mentioned that bears are a bee predator. All I could think about was poor Mary and her bear incident! This is going to be very fun and interesting!

Susanne,
I use sevin dust inside my chicken coops occasionally. The bee will sometimes go to the feeder or waterer but they usually do not go anyplace that I would be using sevin.
Glad you are enjoying the class.
