South Carolina

I spent part of my morning cleaning the Mille Fleur's pen. After seeing the wonderful coop Moonchild has I even added a branch for them. Wish I had a big rock but the closes thing would be a cinder block around here.

Emptynester--the little boy on the ground is the chick I got from you. The father is on the roosts with mom and sis. He has become a very pretty boy! And the sweetest one of them all!

Its funny, I put the bucket nest in the back corner and the girls look in it but only the two boys get in it and set there looking out. Wonder if they would hatch the eggs for the girls too!

Oh Joy, Raisin is doing well!

She is still in with her silkie friends.

Oh, and I have to share a pic of my golden laced Cochin hen and her brood of silkie chicks. I let them out this morning for a romp--since the chicks keep getting out anyway. She is such a good mother.

I will read and catch up in a few! As promised here are baby pics!! I have been out there an hour just watching! My little white one is a girl...she is more shy and still kind of wobbly but I watched her nurse twice(if thats what you call the 10 second meal??). The black one is a boy! I also watched him do a speed meal and he comes right up for petting. When I got her it was with the plan to put her in my garden to clean it out then put her on a tie out on some areas to clean up! Then she was farther along than I was first told so I set her up a nice corner with lots of green,a small run in barn with a floor and bedding...What does she do??? has them in the mud on other side of garden!!

I was worried about my smaller shakey girl but I saw her nurse more and she pottied!!

Too cute!

You grew up near another poster that is on here, Blueberry Hill. She lives on a road behind Mountain Creek Church.
Remember the horses that were in the little pasture with the pond across from the Mountain Creek church? One of those was mine up until about 1983. I got married in 1980 but was born and raised right there in that neighborhood. Rode horses over to Paris Mtn State Park many, many days and trained for Endurance Riding up the mountain a good bit.
LOL Now I live off of Hwy 14 north of Greer so not far from where your hubby works!
I still have a horse in my backyard. I love the old butt head!

Explain to me why you would sell a goat only to ask to buy the babies back 48 hours later?? Atleast I think thats what she was trying to delicatly do.Her DH had offered to buy any billies(when we picked her up) so we wouldnt have to worry about breeding issues but I do know about banding them!! She asked me today when I was going to sell them?? I had others want them but they are friends who love adorable babies...All I know is I am not selling the first baby goats born on my farm!!

On another note...I HAVE TO WORK TOMORROW!!...actually I could have said no but its at a school I dont get called to much.I want to stay home and sit in with the babies all day!! I hate being all grown up

You could politely let her know that you will not consider selling any steers (banded billies) or does until after the mother weans them. Maybe she will get the hint that you will band the billy goats ... if ya gonna do it though, do it early :)

I Love the Branches, and if you wanna add a large rock, just check some land around ya. The rock in my run actually isn't that big(but b/c they are small it looks big!!) haha I could even carry it myself. Your MFd'Uccles are Awesome! Oh and RedBug Call me "Yancy"
Oh and I love the sand in my run do you like yours?
