Pics will come asap...I have been down all night and they are still not in her run in shed but both are standing and she is sticking close. She is skiddish so I am waiting on sunrise to go in just in case she tries to kick my butt! I have not seen them nursing but she has them against her so I am sure they are...my white baby seems wobbly still and the black one seems stronger but that may be normal. It is cold so that is my big concern now...just a couple hours until it starts warming up though

and I can get a better look...I plan on bribing her with sweet feed!!

ETA: I have been down all night means I have set my alarm and peeked every 1 and 1/2 hours!!

Been there and done that, but did not get the TShirt, even slept in the barn on bales of hay waiting for the moment.

I liked your use of the word sKIDdish above

That is so cool! Congratulations! And I love your gorgeous critter photos and page layout. I'm with you on the wish for more land -- grew up on ten acres at the base of Paris Mountain, and it's really hard to get used to living on an acre and a half! Never had neighbors so close before. Hope both of our dreams come true!

Oh, and by the way, not ALL of the critters in my signature live on the acre and a half! Some of them are still at my parents' place.

Otherwise we'd be VERY crowded!

Just saw this. I grew up near Paris Mountain State Park, about 2 blocks from Paris Elementary school (the old one!) and went to church at Piedmont Park United Methodist for the first 35 years of my life. Grew up on a small amount of land but moved out to the country after I got married. I made sure I married a man with land! LOL

It's a small world!

Awww! I am glad she had them okay. It was wretched cold last night. Figures! Can't wait to see pix of the babies and I want to know what you all name them!

And welcome to our awesome super duper SC thread!
Chickens are fabulous and some of us have a lot more than just chickens. There are ducks, Guineas, turkeys, peacocks and so on! We talk farm animals and gardening, too. Tell us more about what all you do on your place. I am sure we all share the same interests.

yeah unfortunately im stuck on night shift but atleast i get to mess with the chickens during the day now! LOL

I'm up early but go outside at daylight to let everyone out and a few chores before back inside to get DD rounded up for school (no, Robert, you can't be square for school!) and then more chores and finally a coffee break in front of the computer.
Now on to wrap more eggs and separate out meal worms for shipping.

I'm in Spartanburg County. Word of warning.....chickens are addictive! I started 7 years ago with 12 little chicks and 1 chicken tractor and now I have chickens in the triple digits, ducks (probably triple digits but I refuse to count them all), peafowl, turkeys etc. etc. Enjoy your adventure - chickens are great fun!
