I had a great day riding with mom to visit Nikki and my Amy...I can't believe I only came home with one lonely egg????? Of course I tried to buy all Amy's best birds but she refused???? Doesn't she know they will look just as pretty at my house???

I found a new love also with the creole giant cochin( I love me some cochins)and Amy woudn't share her Mille project gals or the new white she just got with me(insert stompy pouty smiley here) and the silkies at Nikki"s house have me wondering about those too...

LOVE YOU GALS!!!

Well since Robert will be working all weekend, I decided to venture on my first Chicken bathing experience. Yep, the "midgets" were the victims. Bride "Minnie Pearl", and Toby "Nepolean" actually were pretty good. I did get a few scratches, not bad. They are sqeeky clean and warm. I used a blow dryer on them and also have a heat lamp on in the room. Its not to close, but it will keep the chill, just incase I didnt get all the under feathers dry.

So Amy your guys have had an adventure here, and they seem to be taking to the attention.

Oh and in case you wondered they are actually in my house.

Little d'Anver hen is still hanging in there! She was in the sleeping in the nesting box again tonight. I'm glad I'm off this weekend so I can make sure she's still eating and drinking. I'm tempted to bring her inside...but don't want to stress her out any. She seems to be sticking it out..hopefully she'll begin to improve!

Amy, we have a new name for Toby, it is Nepolean, can you guess why

ANyway I still like that bad boy, and Bride is settleing in nice, she really like bread. So I have gotten her to not be so startled. I guess pickng them up to move them outside a few times has really helped.

Thank you so much for letting them come stay for awhile.

LOL
Oh, yes, I can well imagine. He does have that "Napoleon" attitude! Struts around like he owns everything and crows like the world should bow to him.
Glad to hear Bride is settling down for you. It probably helps that she is away from all these other girls, too.
We are still looking for d'Anver girls for you to work with. I am sure with several of us looking we may come across some eventually.

Hey Lroach- To help boost her up try putting a little pedilyte in the water or electrolytes. It was helps when you got one that's a little weak. I do this with my babies and chicks that act weak or sad. Also I do a weekly feeding of Crushed Red Pepper and oats treat to help with any buggies that get into their system(I learned this trick a little to late last year) But this year I'm on it!

It was great seeing you, Patsy! You ladies were charming, as usual! Wish we could have visited longer. Too many things to have to do in such a short time. The days and people just fly by too fast!
I hope all the new birds are settling in well.

We are all rooting for her here!!

Lauren, I am keeping positive thought for your lttle hen. I hope she continues to improve.

When I checked on the d'Anver hen this morning she seemed to be ok. It was still kind of dark so I shined a flashlight in the little coop area. She looked at me like "whatttt do you want shining a flashlight at me this early???" Hopefully she'll still be doing well when I get home. Luckily I'm off this weekend and can keep an eye on her. I love those little buggers so I really hope she does ok!!

Trying to catch up. I am so ready to crash but wanted to say I am pulling for your lady! I hate to hear about a little sweetie not doing well. I add Vit E and Niacin to boost the immune system. Sometimes I put Echinacea in, too. Depending on how they act and look as to what I treat them with.
