Met another BYCer and totally enjoyed visiting with her and her husband! Fascinating people from BYC!
Now on to the next group. Just grabbing a bite of lunch, watering a few pens and back to yakking!

Yesterday i ripped off all the old sides of the hen house today im putting on the metal roof. Im trying to keep it a lil more dryer inside. Lately I notice a lot of water getting in. The job im working on has alot of scrap pieces of seamless roofing, so in gonna try a few pieces.

Thought I'd add a little picture of my sickly girl..I still am not sure on a name for her. I named the roo Abraham. I was thinking I'd name the girls Sarah and Mary. (Sarah as in Abraham's wife in the Bible and Mary for Abraham Lincoln's wife

Thanks everyone for cheering my little d'Anver girl along! She's doing okay. Eating and drinking still. Maybe a little perkier? Hard to say since I worked yesterday and couldn't see her behavior. But I'm just happy she's eating and drinking and walking around. She does seem to take it wayyy easier than the other 2 but still doing ok!
Lauren, how is your little girl this morning? She has a big cheering section, it seems. We all want her to get better for you.

I am just waiting for Blueberry Hill (aka April) to arrive and pick up all these BLRW chicks i hatched out for her. Still have 2 pipping in the eggs but they don;t seem in any hurry to hatch out. Bummer! I was hoping they would all be out by this morning. She is going to have a lovely group of kids growing up though. Hopefully she will share photos as they mature. It took me several years to get a flock I was pleased with.

Was trying to catch up on some of the thread and so hoped I would not find sad news at the end. My fingers are crossed for her! So far so good--how does her "droppings" look? That often tells a lot....

Well, I have a few minutes before I must go help DH with the porch or chase down DD. Busy last couple of day--DH got something in his eye working on the porch Wednesday and we had to spend some time at the eye doctor, plus he has not gone into work since then. I asked him if he miss placed those nice prescription safety eye glasses we got him?

Well, the Coral Blue guineas are now in the big peacock pen and loving it. We only have the young band of 12 in there. I tried to add some more but it was an all out fight and that was just with putting in hens. Hopefully the six hens will lay well.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I have Dominiques and Marans hatching today and tomorrow and am very excited! I still need to post pictures of my last hatches. Where does the time go?

I so wish I lived closer to you guys! When Lydia get a little older she and I are going on a road trip!!

Red bug- come visit any time:)

Chicky baby, praying for your family.

Lroach, hope your feathered baby pulls through.

Beautiful day here :) Hope all are well. Have partied me out today!!! Chicken watching while waiting on the last buddy to go home. Darn shamed I can't chicken watch from the luxury of my rocking chair on the front porch. Note to self: "must move chickens closer to the house!"

Put your babies up well tonight- its supposed to b a cold one. :)

House fire in upstate SC was my SIL's dad. It is going to be rough on her...his first reaction was to call her - she & her son called 911....both of them tried to get him out but smoke was so bad they could not find him, even though they could hear him..... her son did have to stay in hospital overnight....please keep them all in your prayers.

I am praying for your family!

Lauren...I am super happy your gal is hanging in...she is so pretty!!

I do have happy news...3 of my 5 first ever Mille chicks have hatched and one is zipping now!! The very first one she ever laid made it to lockdown but so far no pip...still good results from first eggs!! I am wondering if there is a way to tell them apart though...2 of the 3 have a stripe down thier back and 1 doesn't!! I am hoping some of our more experienced Mille D'Uccle breeders can give me a hint!! I may just band them 2 colors and see what grows into what sex!!
