I am soo proud of Beau!! He was a good LGD today.Last week we let the evil rooster out and let Beau out to meet his first full size chicken...had a small bit of checking the roo out which of course got him attacked by evil roo! So today I decided to let him meet the gals while they were out today! He was excellent and never even tried to bother them...he even went in the coop and drank water with them!! Very good for a 17 week old pup I think!!

ETA: I know I need hen saddles...haven't sat down to sew some. You would think with 9 ladies Lucky would not wear them out like this but he is a very diligent roo!!

What a good dog, and he's beautiful too! Is he a beagle? I love his color.

I like Beau's colors, he is a very nice looking pup!

I moved chicks out to the hutch yesterday since it was so warm and they panted in the heat. It did turn off cold last night though so I hope they got under their light. I so wish I had another hutch that size.

It is fun having different chicks growing and being able to see different personalities in the making. Dominiques are some what spastic as chicks where Marans and Australorp are very mellow. Even the Ameraucanas are very mellow chicks compared to my Dominiques. Hope they do not teach the Marans that are in with them to be that way. I still love the all!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! I am out to get started with my chores....

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I have started with seven chicks: 2 EE's, 2 SLW, 1 BLRW, and 2 Marans. All are supposed to be girls. My fingers are crossed.
Patsy, you are right about this being addictive. I want so many more!!!

Everybody must be busy busy busy! It is so quiet on here! Hope everyone enjoyed the gorgeous weather! At one point I got too hot working around the coop and had to come in for a while! This weather is crazy! But I'm ok with the pretty sunny weather!

It really has been quiet over here. kinda sad i miss hearing whats going on. I cant believe how warm it has been the past coupleof days. love the cool morning and nice afternoons, but not liking all the bugs. of course my flock enjoys bugs, but wasps :( i see the fire ant hills are showing up like crazy. sure hope those guineas get hungry for fire ants.

we will be gone all day sat for the npip class and then sunday we are going to see susanne place. trying to get more ideas for new chicken houses. its time to start building! we also found today that we need to do some much needed fence work. Not happy about finding a whole secton of our fence removed.

so lots of busy things going on here.

SC peeps, please try and pop in and at least say a hello.

Thanks Joy and Redbug...the girl I got him from thought he was an Aussie mix with the merle and blue eyes but I have been told he looks like a really well colored Catahuola dog? I looked them up and he does and the are popular down in the Augusta area so he may be...I am pretty sure no beagle there! I like him too much( not a beagle fan) and he is already as big as a grown beagle and he is 17-18 weeks old. Of course I came home today to a huge hole in the hallway wall that reminds me of Gator when he was chewing!! Time to spackle and paint again!!

I am enjoying the weather this week and have spent alot of time outside except today since I was called to work...should have said no...I had my last class of 8th graders who were horrid. I really do not like middle school and usually work with my special needs classes but I occasionally get asked to work somewhere else...

I hope everyone else is also out having a productive week...spring fever is heavy in the air!!
