THANKS AGAIN PHONEMAN!!

Thanks, Sam! And I might add that you got some really awesome birds! Well worth the drive! You brought some fantastic quality to the upstate! Remember that egg I let you slip out with......<wink> I will need some "return plus". LOL
Seriously, it would be nice to get some hatching eggs from you when you can manage it. I am sure you want to look through my chick brooders while giving me that back rub and the eggs will make it all the nicer. LOL
You got some good breeding pens going on now! You deserve it, you have worked hard to get all these beauties.

Hmm ok...I had just read where some ppl incubate them at a higher humidity...but it's worth a try. I'd love to have a little duckling!

Lauren, I just mist my duck eggs when I open my bator to take or put in more eggs or refill the container or whatever I happen to be doing in the bator cause I can't seem to stay out of it! LOL
Right now I have Porcelain Silkies hatching out with lavender Muscovy ducklings. I must say, I find my duck eggs are more likely to be air sensitive than my chicken eggs. With chick eggs, I can open and close my hatcher no problem but duck eggs lose too much moisture, even spritzed, and will "shrink wrap".

I say, go for it!

Thanks folks!! And Amy...I won't forget all you have helped me with!! I will be sure to bring some when we come up for those Guinea eggs....when ever those gals get in gear!! The great thing is these gals were in with awsome Black Wheaten roos so they are going to give me eggs from other roos to mix in with mine...more bloodline diversity when I hatch these first ones!!!

On another note..I have 5 out of 8 of MY eggs pip and hatch on day 18?? They all stuck in shell and I had to help...I am sure this is because I had found them when I went to add my water to raise humidity for lockdown...the other 18 eggs are B/B/S Amers eggs I bought at morganton...they all developed but so far no action...I set those eggs really late sunday night so I have my fingers crossed but so far no action

For now on I start lockdown at day 17 for those teeny eggs!!

I did forget to say I found Guinea eggs!!! In the duck coop, but hey, at least I know the Pearls are laying.
My lavs and chocolates do not have any so far. Well, the chocolates might. They go in the barrel a lot but I have not dug through the shavings to check for any since I have to get down on the ground for that. I was old and achy before my Birthday. Now I am really feeling it. LOL
I am sure by the time you visit next I will have Guinea eggs for you, Sam! I know you will share with me as that is just the kind of peoples we are! We don't just say it, we do it!

I hear ya on the small eggs. The Porcelain Silkies are popping out but the big Marans are still a long way from hatching out. I know the ducks will take longer and I have some of the Ameraucanas in there, too. I still set my small eggs on day 18 but sometimes they are pipping when I move them to the hatcher. It's always funny because I do not have to candle those.

Okay, I am with the others, I can't possibly catch up on everything so I want to say to Debi that I hope Ray is doing much better. I hate to hear about all this. It is so troubling when our loved ones and especially our better half is going through something so difficult. My prayers are with you both!
