Roos are in plentifull supply here but thanks!! I do love my roos...so much color and personality! I sold 4 of my cochin roos and 4 D'Uccle roos saturday and it was hard...they were sweet boys!! I also agree on the saying you want part...when I set up to get birds I am like a little kid...I have no patience and go nuts until I have them!!!
Well Samatha they can be yours in live living color..... hahah!!!!! oh and for the great price of FREE!!! hahaha!!(really that part is no joke). I have someone that is suppose to come get them, but either they are not really interested or chickens just aren't their passion.. If you say "YEAH I WANT", then COME get what you want... haha!!!! I love taking pics of my chicks and chickens, I need a better camera!!!

OK so it's been awhile so I thought I would post pics of my babies that are growing up fast.
This little brown roo is a character...He follows me everywhere and is the only one that doesn't mind being picked up. He's gonna be a BIG boy!. OH he's suppose to be leaving soon to a good home (I hope this is not my mistake)

This is the BlueEEroo that I'm gonna keep (Cause I LOVE BLUE chickens)He is so purdy I could not get rid of him.

This is the Blonde and Blue Roo I'm keeping. Really just to see how he turns out when he's older! He purdy Tooo.

Here's one pullet I'm keeping Blue with a spot of red/brown on it's chest(thinking about) calling this one Katniss.
WOW they really are growing and getting to looking good! 'Course they have always been cuties!!!

Sad to come home today to find 2 of my EE pullets dead and one sick.
Oh wow! So sorry!!! What do you think is going on? I have been worried about the sudden heat here but all the guys and gals seem to being doing good so far! They have these great big trees for shade most of the day so I am hoping that will help! I hope the sick one will be OK for you! I did have a 5 week old cockerel get pecked pretty bad yesterday but have him inside and he is pretty frisky so I think he will be OK. I think he somehow got hung up in the fencing and that is what caused the pecking. I found him hung up in the fence...had to cut the fence to free him safely without hurting his wing that was stuck...easier to repair fence that break wing feathers!

how is the lil polish chick doing?

I am in Charleston, SC. Specifically, James Island. I am trying to start a flock in my backyard, but I only want 2 chicks for now. Everywhere I have seen to order them has a minimum much greater than that. Does anyone know somewhere close to me I can buy 2 chicks?
Welcome!!! Let me say from experience that you will find and make many many new friends here! Welcome also to the insane world of chickens! I am not sure if we have them or they have us!!!

I am sure you will find a few soon! Are you looking for anything (breed) in particular? I cannot help you unless you love to drive as I live in the upstate but I did spend my pre-teen years on John's Island...it was a very long time ago though!!!

I look forward to hearing stories and comments and seeing pictures of your growing flock!

Good morning cnbeck! (And the rest of SC!)
I've been watching craigslist and I've noticed quite a few birds being offered in singles if your willing to travel (St. George, Cottageville, etc).
There used to be a place on Ladson road (Whole sale dirt or something) that was offering free range chicken, but I dont know the type or anything. Big banner on the side of the building. Next to the new firestation there.
Other than that, I'm Brian, just started a small flock (3 EE's) and look forward to learning as much as possible!
Welcome Brian!!! Sounds like you know the area pretty well! You must be close to there!
