South Carolina

Kris, I looked around a bit last Sat. for some d'Anvers but no luck. I didn't get to poke my head in every pen but any little birds were looked at to see if they were MF d'Anvers.
We will eventually find you some! Who knew it would be so hard?????

And Kris, if you need more convincing that d'Uccles are super, super sweet....come visit my new addition. Well, he was hatched here, left for about a year and is now back. LOL Thank you, Moonchild, for the most awesome and sweet boy. Jasper is a fantastic boy and eats up his petting. I am glad I needed him and you had to let him go! It was great that I sold a pair that I did not need and have 3 MF young ladies that needed a man. So going outside the bloodlines but staying within SQ requirements, Jasper is now in his new home and loving it!

OK pickup for my babies is on saturday, now I have picked the ones to keep and I have two roos BUT I'm worried about this one. I've been told Roo and I've been told pullet it's JGxEE and about 11weeks old PLEASE ....HELP....... if roo the band comes off and he goes, if pullet she stays....I want it to be pullet ....First pick was week ago.

Now Today

The comb concerns me, but the feathers tell other stories. (But if anybody has a EE project and wants to add blue if roo) I'll save him for you...

Dude! That's a pop up, for sure! OMG!

That comb sure looks roo now and mine have developed late.
Sure is colored up like a pullet though...........

Gee, I am no help! You know me, I keep everything, it seems, until it crows or lays an egg. You should see me drag Jackie or Kimberly around and ask about the Silkies. "What do you think it is?" "Okay, what do you THINK it is, now?" Ugh. It is horrid! LOL

Amy, those feather footed guys, I just dont know if I will ever get use to them, but I will say, I love Napolean/Toby. If I went to those feather feet, I like the beard and muff faces, but he has my heart.

I do have 2 Gold Neck D'uccles from Sam :)

Yancy, hmm, I wish I had more experience. I would say pullet, but you need to listen to those who have experience. I have an Olive Egger here, that I am truely tossed if it is a girl or boy.

I hope someone who really knows will post an answer for you.

Good Luck that it is a she.

I have been meaning to ask how they are doing...it has been a crazy 2 weeks here! I want pics as they grow!! They were some of my first hatched from that coop!!

Are you sure this is the same bird?

I mean, really......look at that angelic face in the top photo. That is a soft, sweet face of a beautiful little girl.
Now the second photo has that big strong eye and total attitude.
Are you sure?
Well, looking closer at the first photo it almost looks like a longer tail is trying to emerge. Since the Guineas were so nice as to pull out the tail feathers on all my young Ameraucanas I have no clue as to what age they developed. I would expect closer to 15 weeks though.

But I want eggs from her soooo bad!! LOL...And the posse is out dog hunting tonight!! I am joining them in the morning....got me a stand on the trail they are using. They came while I was gone today and my closest neighbor heard all the ruckus from them chasing birds...I came home to him sitting on his 4 wheeler in my driveway...gun on lap...guarding for me!!
I'm sorry!! I do love my broody right now though! But she is super sweet. Lonnnng mornings are never a good thing!
