You might remember that I got a chick from Sam for my lone hatcher. I found the blrw laying across the br this morning. You guys probably have seen it many times but I just love their love for each other. It is so sweet!!

Yay, It's lockdown time for my eggs tonight :) I'm super excited. It's been so much fun incubating my first batch. The kids have had a ball seeing them moving around in their shells when we candled the eggs. We candled them tonight before we went to lockdown and they were amazed at how big they have grown. We've lost a couple but I'm not worried because we're still doing really well with 12 eggs due to hatch in 3 days <happy dance>... So I've removed the egg turner, increased humidity and now it's a waiting game.. I'll post pics once the little chick-a-dees hatch

Awww...and that was my baby....but she has a good home and they have become such good buddies!! Great pic!!

That is so cool that you were able to hatch them. I wouldn't have guessed they would come out naked...lol
Ok so some of you know from FB but thought I would share...I was at Nikkis and we were looking at a bluebird nest that mom had not been seen at ( cat around) and eggs were knocked out of(not broke) .I tried to get her to hatch them and somehow they came home with me!! 2 broke on the ride home but 3 went in my bator...found they have an 11 day incubation which was today...2 have hatched and the last is pipped!! Feeding was sketchy at first but we seem to be in a groove now and they are pooping nice!! well as nice as poop can be! I see it as a sign they are eating well and right! Here are our lil martians...Guineas have nothing on these babies!!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend and have fun at the cookout!!

To be honest, I am surprised that 12 have made it this far. I was seriously thinking that for my first try at hatching it would be a lot worse (even maybe none hatching).. So far so good though.. The kids and I are getting really anxious to see the new babies arrive. My oldest has made me promise to wake her up if she's asleep when they hatch.. I promised that if I was awake when they hatch I'd wake her up LOL.. but there is no guarantee that i'll be awake :) Guess only time will tell
